MacksLCFC Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I can't see how games of this type add any real value to the players pre-season preparations. As a fan I'm underwhelmed, maybe 20/30 years ago it would have been impressive but when they're on the TV every other week it's hardly like you're seeing something special or unique. Unless it's something like a fiver I've got better things to spend my limited funds on. It also goes to show how they, the media at least misunderstand many fans by calling this news massive, Stringer getting the sack would be more massive than this You're right, it holds very little value in terms of pre season preparation, but clearly (or not, as the case may be) more of a thank you to the fans. I'm not really sure of what "massive news" everyone was expecting at this time of the season. This will be the first, and probably last time I'll get to watch Real Madrid so I'm fairly pleased with this massive news : )
Charl91 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I'm pleased. I'm going to go on the off-chance we dick all over them. Very unlikely, but who knows! Might give the players a bit of confidence, with a good result.
Kitchandro Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 You know who's really to blame for this - Bert. He was one of us and could easily have put us out of our misery, but no, he'd rather piss us about and tease us, just like Stringer I have come to the conclusion that Bert is Stringer. Therefore, if there is a Foxestalk version of lynching, let it be brought upon Ian 'Bert' Stringer now.

You'll have to pay to watch it , not my idea of a thank you. So on your next birthday if people get you a present and ask you to pay for it you'll be fairly pleased What was everyone expecting as 'massive' well obviously not this, to me it's just news. Massive is to something that would fundamentally change LCFC or it's prospects for success.
FrankieADZ Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Wow all that build up...pomp and saying it's "Massive News" all it is a sodding money making exercise <_< So please Stringer next time....PLEASE dont build it up. I'm gutterpointed now
StanSP Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 You serious, Kitchandro? Bert is NOT Stringer. FACT. And I for one am pleased about this friendly.

WardyisPukka Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Bet real wont play ronaldo, kaka etc!! stringer u absolute bellend
millzi Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Don't mean to be sexist when I say this, but just looked at some of the replies that Stringer got on twitter to the MASSIVE news he posted, and funny how the only people that think it is really good news and are happy are women!! Just so they can go and smash one out over Ronaldo I dare say!!!
GH1 Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 What is the intended date? Totally agree that this isnt big news - would have prefferred Nike shirts
Kitchandro Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I really hope none of the big names play, then all the part timers will have paid and got exactly what they deserve - a friendly, nothing more, nothing less

Stevosevic Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Bet real wont play ronaldo, kaka etc!! stringer u absolute bellend Barcelona played their big names when they came here, so Real might.
FrankieADZ Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Well I highly doubt that I'll go, <_< how many ppl will actually go im wondering?
Babylon Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Did anyone really expect much from the announcement, it happens time and time again with Stringer. I don't feel pissed off or cheated by the clowns at radio Leicester, because they did what they always do to try and get listeners. The best thing to do next time is not talk about it, not tune in to the radio is droves, that way they gain bugger all from it. Stringer (The boy who cried wolf) may then start reporting like an adult.
Stevosevic Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 I'll go, i like to get to at least one friendly and probably chose this. Considering most of ours are going to be abroad ths year, apparently.
sdb Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's midly exciting, but how can a friendly ever be described as massive?!

FrankieADZ Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Also remember if it is classed as "Massive News" it would appear on Sky Sports News pretty quick....
millzi Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's midly exciting, but how can a friendly ever be described as massive?! How can a friendly be described as bigger than Fergie leaving Man Utd. Utter disgrace. I'm happy I didn't tune in and just got the news off here. They don't deserve listeners with the amount of bullshit they spout out!
cairnsy Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 Im travelling back from Canada that day. Seriously pissed off if it's the 30th of July
tomtom Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 It's not massive news no, but it is fairly good news, jesus!....I for one will go the game if for nothing else to see our new players (whoever they may be) against potentialy the European champions!...but then again some fans like to moan about absolutely anything nowadays
Samilktray Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 A lot of people moaned about us not playing anyone decent in Pre Season the past few years, and now we get a Real Madrid friendly they still moan. Beggars belief.
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 April 2011 Posted 26 April 2011 2 months before I leave. For exactly the same location Beat you both, 2 days before I go to South Africa
