Balotelli is far too good, as are Dortmund. Also is it me or is it almost impossible to slide tackle someone, and in fact, tackle someone in general. Graphics are good though

I like it. First game on PS3 I won 3-0 city against Dortmund. I just felt that for once when attacking it allowed me to do what i wanted to do, as in how I play football. I like the defending also, I've always done jockeying, now they have removed the auto defend of holding down X and square, if you read the game right it's ok. Which is how it should be. Keepers seem ok.

Only gripe as mentioned earlier is headers, definitely buggy, the computer wins ALL headers.

Honestly, after a couple of games, it feels a big improvement over FIFA 11.

Graphically and animation seem way better. Dunno about commentary, not a fan of smudger. I just find him and Martin peters a bit bland. Jonathan Pearce is the way forward. "and Rooney approaching the penalty area, oh! And Matilda has carved him right up!!!! Don't ness with her Rooney! What says you George Francis?"

Downloading it now. Fvcking shit internet connection means I won't have it for a few hours, but once I have it I'll be on it all afternoon with my mates. We're proper Fifa dorks. Btw, what rating do Silva and Aguero have?

Gonna take some getting used to, but not bad, won on penalties :)

1-1 I was man city v Barca

How do penalties work? Is it the same way as in Fifa 11? Or have they gone back to the Fifa 10 method? :)

A little bit easier to score, Aguero is a beast

Touch 81 has it pretty much spot on:

I pretty much agree with all of this, apart from the keeper bit (he must've played on Amateur; they're really good on World Class).

The demo looks damn fine in terms of presentation, but is a bitch to play.

Wow! That review couldn't be any more wrong.

Firstly I'll start off by saying that literally every aspect of gameplay has improved. Very realistic in my opinion. The AI seem a lot harder to play against, Legendary was too easy last year considering it's the hardest setting. Attacking is now a lot more varied because of the improved dribbling. You can actually go round a defender now and also keep the ball when close to the opposition, you don't have to pass, pass, pass to get in good positions. A lot of small things as well that are positive steps for the game like for one example how the screen doesn't go black before taking and throw in an

Regardless of what that guy says players can pass and well the goalkeepers are awesome. Seen some fantastic saves. I've won many headers and scored a few too, so once gain he's talking crap. The big one is tactical defending. The change is for the better. It may not seem it now because nobody is used to it, but when people do there will be a lot less complaining. Makes defending a lot harder and takes a lot more skilful to be good at. At least this year you don't have to just hold the X for constant pressure and to win the ball easily.

Anyway as you can tell I'm loving it so far. My one complaint would be commentating. Seems to be off. I was one minute into the game and they started talking about how good the game had been and a few times it's been delayed when I've scored a goal.

I agree 100% with you. I'm enjoying loads. It feels much more fluid in terms of gameplay.

I really hope the "AI wins the headers all the time which more or less results in a goal" is a bug and will be sorted come release date... That would be criminal if it wasn't but i wouldn't be surprised if EA shipped it out in that state and then proclaimed they saw nothing wrong and then did when it was shipped and a patch will be released to sort it out

The trouble with EA is many Fifa games in the past have been bugged to high heaven and patches get released which more or less do f-all, i have lost alot of faith in EA since Fifa 10.. Fifa 09 was a great game, 10 was ok, 11 was average and 12 well lets see...

Fifa 12 does do some great things and i know this is a demo but with EA's track record so far things aren't looking to bright imo for Fifa 12.. I hope i'm wrong and come the time it's out i have reason to buy it due to it being a great footie game and not an ok game which is ruined by issues

What do you think of the opposing AI when it comes to attacking? Don't the opposing players simply "skate around" or easily run past your defenders, too?

It feels like there's an invisible barrier in between that doesn't allow you to come any closer to an attacking player than maybe a yard.

Played 3 games against my mates and loving it so far! So many things that have been sorted from the last game.

Pros:

- Crossing is so much more dangerous. Balls into the box actually go where you want them to go, and not to the outside of the box.

- Defending is much better and comes down to the decisions YOU make as a player and not just randomness from AI players.

- Graphics are stunning!

- Penalties are better. In Fifa 11, you had like 5 different places to shoot. Top left, top right, middle bottom left, bottom right. So far I've had a few penalties that have gone in even though the keeper has jumped the same way.

Cons:

- Ratings. Maybe just a mistake, but it's annoying that Tevez has 88 even if you use him as a RB. Hopefully that will be fixed by the time it's released.

- Match intro. Short animations show match action from the teams involved. I got the same animation in the first game as the second game. Luckily, this can be skipped, so just a minor issue.

Those are my thoughts after the first few matches. Very impressed with it so far :)

People talking about the computer winning all headers is this just from goal kicks or crosses, corners etc?

Crosses more i have noticed

Oh check this out guys, lol.. That will probably be ironed out come official release (hopefully) but damn Lescott you need to get yaself in the GB gymnastic team for 2012!

The impact engine is going to be brilliant, I can see myself spending ages trying to get a player to do a backflip in a game.

At first I was getting beat quite a lot, but after a few games I've got more used to the defending and well now I seem to be making more tackles and holding off the opposition. I really do think when people get used to Tactical defending they will enjoy the game lots more.

I think getting big Stevie Howard doing that would be worth the 40 quid alone!

I think the whatever tactical defending is atrocious, I've been through the tutorial several times and I can't see how it'll work my players just run past the opposition and don't even hold them up.

And the AI don't let you touch the ball which is frustrating..

/rant over.

My first thoughts, why change the defending of FIFA? This new defending system will take some getting used to.

I like the 'call for assitance' if you know how to use this you might not need to tackle, I've learnt how to use it pretty well in the first few games already. Not made many tackles just pressuring the opposition to get the ball back.

Passing is realistic. I like it apart from the defending...

I know what you mean but I think the solution to this is to use the standing tackle/shoulder barge (B or Circle) and it seems to let you actually get near them.

It's pissing me off 'cause I can't even win a game on World Class.
