MC Prussian Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 Just completed that FIFA challenge (available via the EA Football Centre through the main menu). Had to play NY Red Bulls with the LA Galaxy. You're 2-0 down with 7 minutes to go. You control Beckham at the edge of the box. Free-kick time. I must say I've really enjoyed getting a draw out of this matchup in the end.
Anorak Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 The ammount of penalties that aren't given on this game is actually stupid. I'm not enjoying FIFA 12 as much as 11 even though my record online is good. Lost count of the amount of times this has happened. I've been totally cleared up loads of times and get nothing, almost like the foul is so ridculously late it wasn't noticed. My button bashing (lack of) style which led to conceding so many pens (slide tackle well after a shot is blasted at goal) has gone on this version though so that makes up for it a bit. Fouls have gone a bit weird, i can't seem to spitefully chop somebody down for a surefire red when he's racing his way to score his 5th goal against me anymore.

MC Prussian Posted 8 October 2011 Posted 8 October 2011 I can't get into the Practice Arena via the main menu - it says I should press B, but it doesn't work! Embarrassing, EA. Also, I just played an Exhibition match with my Virtual Pro. Leicester vs. AFC Wimbledon on World Class. My team hardly got a touch on the ball, Wimbledon played like Barcelona!!! In the end, I lost (!!) thanks to a very dubious penalty. There's definitely something not right with the AI.

All the problems you seem to have work fine for me. My main problem with FIFA in the past was that I didn't like playing offline. I found it dull and every game seemed to be the same with always being able to score against the computer in the same way. This year though, I'm probably playing more games offline than online and it's always different and a challenge. Thoroughly impressed.

It really feels as if EA coded the game so that there's always this invisible barrier separating you from the ball, allowing the opposition to somehow anticipate your moves.

They got rid of the scripted feel back in 08, yet it seems as if it's beginning to creep back into the series...

Bastards. Edit: I've just seen that the information in the bottom right hand corner says that the difficulty is on Amateur. It wasn't, I play on Professional. I'm not really good, but I'd like to think that I'm better than Amateur

Very annoying, but would be useful to know so I can quit on the people with awful internet and not lose for it.

I'm not really good, but I'd like to think that I'm better than Amateur The player that's playing him onside has pulled up injured, the game probably then doesn't take him as on the pitch any more or something like that
