Finnegan Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Pre-ordered from Amazon a few hours before release and got it on the Saturday morning, Is it considered bad etiquette to forfeit a match? Does the person that's winning lose out at all? Like if I'm four or five nil down at half time and I know the person's just miles better than me, I've been suffering it out to try and be a good sport because I don't want to just be a petulant child and quit. But is it generally better to just throw the towel in?

I want to play you.
The Doctor Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 Bad etiquette yes. I know you get an increased DNF%, which can be irritating when your internet cuts out because virgin are just absolute scum who's service is beyond crap [/sliding off topic] but I'm not sure the other person does.

SystonFox Posted 4 October 2011 Posted 4 October 2011 I was playing someone and I needed three points from my last game to clinch promotion to division six. I started very well scored with Nugent on six minutes, kept bombarding his goal with his keeper pulling off save after save. Half time I go in with the 1-0 lead. Second half the same bombarding his goal. 70 minutes gone he plays a long ball over the top I head back home with Bamba but the header falls short allowing his player to run on and score(his first shot of the game). At this point I take kick off bombard him again to no avail do I score he breaks on a counter attack then cut backs me in the 90th minute to win 2-1 Anyone played with anyone other than Leicester on here? I've not. online ive only played as LCFC whereas in MM i use Liverpool just to mix it up a bit. cant remember my exact online record but i am Div 9 and need 6 pts for promotion with 4 games remaining *i think*. got promoted at the first attempt aswell, despite being 4-0 down in my first ever H2H game at HT against QPR, pulled it back to 4-3 in second half and had two good chances to equalise after that but it just wasnt to be. loving the game atm but its taking far too much of my time up i need to plough on with GoW3
darko2k7 Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Really enjoying this years fifa, I'm half way through my first season with city am top but forest are only 3 point behind me as i seems to draw a few games on this years . On the old fifa's i was walking the leagues on world class but this year Pro is hard with the new defending which i do enjoy as it makes gettin clean sheet an thing to be proud of rather than a given. I have now i feel mastered the defending at this level , i used to really struggle to get the ball but i think i've got it mastered now. All i do now is try and use the R1 button to get the CPU the jockey the ball carrier while i try and block of their out ball. I find this why alot easier as the CPU then makes more mistakes and you win the ball back faster while also keeping your shape. Ifirst used this style against Man City as City in the QF of the league cup and they never even got a shot on target and i was able to win 3 nil , ever since then don't conceade many and when i do it's down to me losing focus. i do have like the rest of you issues with this game, the one ifid annoying is i can not start a career now without my virtual Pro being in the game for some reason . I also wish you could turn off transfers til january the first season as every team is now different. Anyway thats me finised rambling about rubbish my Psn is TheDayWalker2k10 if and fifa players wand to add me . Note: If you could type Fox in the comment bar when adding me so i know your a city fan and not a random add thanks
Finchy Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Just played some Swiss guy online who had his mic on, it turns out it was Gelson Fernandes' biggest fan. As soon as he realised he was playing he shouted "GELSON FERNANDES!!!!" then went on to chant about him for the rest of the game.
Finnegan Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I have no problems with my internet tbh. Alex, my xbox live handle is Action Pope. Add me and I'll give you a spanking.
DB11 Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I've genuinely not played this since I got it Defending's too hard
The Doctor Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I'm a crap defender at this - played 2v2 against house-mates earlier (bout 6 matches) and must have had at least 1 player sent off in each match trying to slide tackle - even when I try regular tackles the result looks like something Alesana Tuilagi would cause.
Finnegan Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 I've clocked defending. Or at least, I've gotten better to the point I don't see why people are moaning. Just jockey back, hold the line and make them take you on. Second you pull yourself out of shape you get through-balled. I like it, it's trickier but more realistic. You can't just chase the ball.

HEGGSY Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Anybody else had a drop ball yet? I've had two in one game LCFC v Leeds nuge and mckormack both down injured when opposition is attacking ref blows his whistle player goes off, then ref plays a drop ball and it automatically kicks it out of play. Did this exist on previous fifas? can't remember, a good addition though makes the game more realistic I suppose.
GLC Posted 5 October 2011 Author Posted 5 October 2011 No, that's a new addition to the game, it's the little things No, that's a new addition to the game, it's the little things
Finchy Posted 5 October 2011 Posted 5 October 2011 Just found out the problem with the new online solution to quitting (giving the quitter a loss and the other person a win) When you are behind and the other person decides to go to their own goal and time waste like mad. Absolutely impossible to get it off them and you can't quit without getting an automatic loss. This guy I was playing was doing it from the 60th minute onwards! I guess you just have to accept there are huge ***** on online gaming.
The Doctor Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 go to their own goal? So just tackle them/hack them down and force the ball to come out again.
Finchy Posted 6 October 2011 Posted 6 October 2011 go to their own goal? So just tackle them/hack them down and force the ball to come out again. Wish it was that simple, when they are passing it between the back four and the goallie, it takes so long to get near them.
