Particularly while other clubs think they can milk us for all we're worth. He's about the standard of player I'd expect us to be bringing in for a fee like that. If we want to be bringing in the sort of players who are going to thrive in this league we're either going to need to take a punt on someone who's relatively unknown (a la Fryatt) or fork out.

Surely that shows that despite everyone calling him crap he only scored 4 less than a player high on confidence in a team that reached the play offs so he can't be that bad. I'll reserve judgement until I see him in a decent team.

I'll reserve judgement until I see him in a decent team. Unfortunately if the player isn't Waghorn or Fryatt, or isn't valued at about £4m + people aren't prepared to give them a chance. It seems to me people have convinced themselves that we would buy a whole squad of players valued at £3m+ each. Well, when you need a right back, a left back, two or three strikers, three centre halves, a goal keeper and a midfielder... that aint possible. So I think people should brace themselves for a few "underwhelming signings".

You could talk about who crap managers are signing if you'd prefer. Then again this is the wrong forum for that. Regardless of whether you think Sven knows this league and knows who to buy or not saying that we shouldn't discuss it is ridiculous. That's what the forum's for if you haven't noticed. Or are only positive comments allowed? We'll see if Sven knows best at the end of the season anyway.

Yeah of course it's all i ever say, funny really considering you only bother quoting half of what I said. Also funny coming from someone who seems to do nothing but whinge and moan about everything. Fancy commenting on the other part of the post on how it's inevitable we're going to sign a few underwhelming squad players? Fryatt did not want to sit on the bench, it was his choice to not be part of our squad. Waghorn seemed to be making the same noises last year. So, we need to find some half decent players who ARE willing to sit in the bench for a bit. We cannot afford £3/4/5m for bench warmers, people need to be realistic. Who would you bring in on the cheap to fill out the squad places?

You are by far the most selectively biased and overly sentimental poster on the forum and you throw around accusations of bias and personal grudges three to four times as much as anyone else. Just get it out of your head. There is a Cult of Waghorn on the forum, there has been since he resigned. The fact of the matter is he's been underwhelming himself when given the opportunity and he obviously hasn't impressed Sven on the training ground either.
