I have no idea what trolling means? Genuinely... Im not one of your foxes talk in-crowd and am naive to these terms..

If it means making points which are not absolutely in line with the mainstream then yes, I must be trolling?

Enlighten me prussian

Well, this post proves my point entirely.

Whilst you are again (deliberately) failing to response to my question about your claim that we need to sign players asap, no matter what the circumstances.

Right, this nonsense is winding up a lot of people.

You pretend to be naive and have never heard of trolling (or even googling the term to discover it), and you've changed your opinion from downright arrogant and anatagonistic when you first started posting, to a positive and more complimentary attitude to others opinions.

Like a window, no not the transfer one, you are transparent, and irritating.

You are not some hero fighting the fight against the mainstream opinion. Swimiming up stream against the current. You are a troll, plain and simple.

Yet my Derby manager says they are lining up their sixth signing :giggle: since he says they signed Tyson earlier this week.

City are lightweight up front and we are currently very mediocre at the back and preseason starts in two weeks from friday?

careful.. the brainwashers will accuse you of being a troll..whatever that is....

change your post to summat like... 'but I'm sure Sven has 30/40 targets lined up and he knows what he's doing' and you'll be safe...

At least for now....

Their sixth extremely average signing. Would you want any of those players in our squad?

So why don't you go and support Derby County instead?

We should of signed nathan tyson he will score 7-10 a season but he will run around like mad and give his all :trumpet:

Just like Iain Huuuuume did, ey?

We already have two, three, four players that can score 7 to 10 goals a season.

And we've very probably just signed David Nugent.

What we need is a 20+ goals kinda guy.

As long as they are here in the next 3 weeks it doesn't matter. Whether it's one a day or 8 transfers the day before the start of preseason. Even if a few come in after that it doesn't matter as long as there is a decent core there.

What is the point in whining about it now? Not many teams have been out signing players, and if Derby are your bench mark for signings then you don't expect much. Shit players are courted by shit clubs, we are competing with the likes of lower placed premier teams, relegated teams like Brum, West Ham etc. Derby have probably been competing with league one teams.

Note:

1. As far as I can recollect Spherical, there are some points you have made that I have agreed with, some I havent. Such is the case in a democracy.

2. I am naive as to what 'trolling is' and do not mean to wind-up people deliberately, so therefore am not a 'WUM' or any such nonsense...

3. you are correct.... when I have agreed with the mainstream opinion I have been left alone, or sometimes been praised for 'changing my attitude'.

4. However, I have noticed one thing to be true on here..... When I have disagreed with what appears to be mainstream opinion (eg. the Yak being God's gift, Radio Leicester being shite, Sven having 30/40 targets in mind, Bruma being quality) etc. I have found myself immediately sworn at, likened to a person with a learning disability, acused of being a WUM, Troll or as being purposely argumentative). Those saying things that, for whatever reason, the mainstream feel they shouldnt, are stamped upon, ridiculed and ostracised by a key number of individuals in order to kill their arguments. This is called a clique and is a powerful tool, one which is very difficult to fight against.

I consider myself neither to be a maverick or a hero or whatever other label you wish to attribute to me. I am just a normal bloke, with mates who go down the City and have been so doing for 20 years. I am not a WUM, a Troll or whatever such nonsense you want to come up with. I just dont always agree with you... Sorry but I'll continue to post what I believe and, unless I become really pissed-off, not be rude to you.

Mainstream, lol .Yak is the best we can get at this level... Stringer and Young have some favourites wich affect team mentality....Sven has more than 30/40 targets in mind, test a few hundreds at least. Do you have any idea of how many players out there that can do it in this league..... Bruma is quality if he plays in midfield, not in defence.

Wums or trolls deliberately turn things to exaggerate people and you like to do that. The things you call mainstream is way off in different directions.

You've been left alone? WTF? Do you really think you are holding some sort of torch for the minority opinion or something? There's no clique on here. There's no cloak and dagger messaging to gang up on Col City or any other poster for that matter.

If a poster relentlessly posts on near every thread the same tired responses, then other posters are going to respond to them. Quit playing like some sort of picked on victim bullied by the rest of the forum. Not everyone agrees with what I post, that's fine by me. I don't go out of my way to respond to every criticism that's made against me.

People noted 'your change of attitude'. Well they only said it because you were less aggressive, and clearly you responded to being chastised for it initially.

You are likened to a troll because you like the attention, good or bad. But it is tiresome now.

You can believe whatever you want.

It is not just a matter of deciding who to sign then going ahead and signing that player.

It is all a question of balance. We know Sven and his back-up team had a list of maybe as many as a hundred potential 'targets'.

We still do not know about Ben Mee or Miguel Vitor, or Yukubu, or Given, or Kyle Naughton. We are all fairly sure that these are all high on Sven's list.

Even though they are all amongst his preferred targets, I doubt we could afford them all, anyway.

Then, depending on which of those we can secure, alternative decisions on where to spend will be taken regarding another bunch of players - these could include Kamara, Maynard, Heskey, other goalkeepers, defenders and midfield players.

As we secure players, we will then be guided on what other players will be needed, balanced with who we can afford, and tempered with decisions regarding who we might sell and the prices we can get for them.

Actually I am trying to simplify the whole process for those who may not comprehend how it works. In reality it is more complicated than that.

This all means that to do the best possible job, to get the best possible team for our challenge on the Championship title this coming season, we have to approach the whole issue as though fitting the pieces in a jigsaw. ( Forcing the wrong piece into the jigsaw to speed things up, will inevitably mean there would be no chance of completing the picture ).

It seems perfectly viable to me therefore, that once we have the answers on our prime objective acquisitions things will move at an accelerated pace.

I've read that before... How on earth can we sign a squad fit for winning the division, make them gel, bond, instill tactics, discipline, settle em in etc within about what... 6 weeks?

Is that how it's done?

Look at Man utd as the beacon for how to progress a club properly.. One or two signings per close season max, get em as early as possible, give them time to feel at home at the club... Is this rocket science cos some of the crap coming out on here at the mo is even worse than usual...

A lot of the "crap", is coming from your stupid posts

I get conuzed with all these transfer windows, and this may have been mentioned already but does anybody know:

If a club signs a player on a free transfer. I mean out of contract player (not placing an offer of £0) and the player agrees to join, can the club announce the signing before 1st July? I know a club can announce a signing that they have paid for, for instance, Jordan Henderson to Liverpool was announced, because on Football Manager (now it is a game, but its fairly as real to real life football) if I was to approach an out of contract player and he joined, I cannot unviel the deal until/after July 1st.

Bit confuzing, but I wanted that clearing up because technically, we could have already signed some players on free transfers (thats if my method is correct).

What a ridiculous thread this has turned into.

Yes we should be patient, yes we want quality & not a load of dross like Derby have signed. Yes it's going to be difficult to get our 1st choice signing all the time.

I'm hoping for a couple of forwards & defenders before pre-season starts, but it wouldn't surprise me if we're active in the final week before transfer deadline day & even hit the loan signing hard again as it will be obvious that some players won't want to sign for a Champs side.

I just hope we get Mee again, hopefully permanently, and of course Yakubu, and we at least compete for Naughton's signature although I don't hold out much hope for that.

As for Col City Fan's point, yes ManU do only add to their quality squad with 1 or 2 quality signings but that is because they have a quality squad, we don't. We need a GK, a LB (2 if Bruno goes) 2 RB, 2 CB (3 if Hobbs goes) a MF who can win the ball & 2 forwards (3 if Waggy goes) Vassell's goal return was appalling & embarrassing & if we're to be in with a shout of top 2 we'll need to do much better.

Adding 1 or 2 quality players ManU-style just isn't possible due to the need to both improve massively & last season's failed loan-signing gamble decimating the squad.
