Petchy Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Apparantly us and Wigan want him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1392879/Wigan-Leicester-watching-Egypt-keeper-Essam-El-Hadary.html? 38 though?
jonw88 Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Has Ricardo written all over it. If you check his wiki page he hasn't played regularly since 2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essam_El-Hadary
stu Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Has Ricardo written all over it. If you check his wiki page he hasn't played regularly since 2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essam_El-Hadary It also says he is 5 foot 3. That can't be right surely?
zubi Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Hahaha el hadary, now i love african football but this guy is a joke... much like most egyption players, they are very indisciplined. Im sure he left his team in the middle of a season in protest so he could join a greek team?
thybluefox Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 Hell no, we need a keeper ( english, foreign, anything) who's familiar with english leagues, ideally the Championship.
the new guy Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 apperntly arsenal whated him back back in 2008, so he cant be that bad surly?
Kingylcfc Posted 31 May 2011 Posted 31 May 2011 hes 38.....never played in england......not used to the style of football of the championship.....remind you of anyone? a certain Ricardo maybe
StanSP Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 apperntly arsenal whated him back back in 2008, so he cant be that bad surly? The team famed to have dodgy keepers in the past - Almunia to name one. And the team who called back a 41 year old retired ex-player to cover themselves. Yeah, this guy can't be bad at all
dave_the_fox Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 If this guy does sign, can we please give him a bit more support than what we gave Ricardo? He may not let in worm burners against the like of the red dogs.........
the new guy Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 The team famed to have dodgy keepers in the past - Almunia to name one. And the team who called back a 41 year old retired ex-player to cover themselves. Yeah, this guy can't be bad at all ok fair point but arsenal thought he would be good enought for the prem also apprently they where talking 15million for the guy and arsenal dont splash the cash
Darkon84 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 apperntly arsenal whated him back back in 2008, so he cant be that bad surly? Are you actually aware of Arsenals goalkeeping record in recent years?
Kierzz Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Could be some truth in the Kasper Schmeichel rumour: Sven had him at Man City and Notts County so is clearly a big fan Also his contract is up at the end of next season (see link below), so if leeds want to cash in, they have to do it this summer to get all his worth. http://www.gfdb.com/Player.3770.Kasper-Schmeichel.aspx
the new guy Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Are you actually aware of Arsenals goalkeeping record in recent years? yes but matey boy wasnt apart of that record im not saying hes good but for arsenal to be willing to pay 15mil for the guy he cant be all that bad. and i would rather have fabianski or szczesny any day over wheal so i would rather have a arsneal keeper then our current leicester keeper
DanTheFox07 Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 38 oh dear, id rather have kirkland! not really showing much ambition in the transfer market if were after him!
MGLCFC Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Are we after him - has it been reported anywhere official? - or is it just a case we need a goallie - one has become available - so the papers assume we will be interested?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 much like most egyption players, they are very indisciplined. Ha, where'd this assumption come from? Love watching the Egyptian national team in any tournament, and, games against Algeria aside, rarely see this any more or any less than any other nation. Sven should bust his balls to get Aboutreika in.
artursteppe Posted 1 June 2011 Posted 1 June 2011 Many of the best goalkeepers the world has ever seen played well into their forties! Lots of them!Including the best ever, one Peter Shilton..
bluearmyfox23 Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 38 oh dear, id rather have kirkland! not really showing much ambition in the transfer market if were after him! How can u say that have u ever seen him play and look at freidel he is suppose to be goin to Liverpool and he is 39-40 so he does have about 3 years left in him
dobbylcfc Posted 2 June 2011 Posted 2 June 2011 He's 38 and sounds like another Ricardo I think i'd rather have Kevin Poole back tbh
