Nice friendly invasion :)

IMO can't see pelts requesting to leave the club, he just doesn't seem that type of player, we've been promised one big crack at promotion next season, and off the back of the last I don't see why this can't be achieved. However if pelts doesn'y buy into this then he could well be on his way, doubt it though (mainly hope)

We have also been promised a big crack at promotion to the Prem, which without trying to sound patronising is a much better prospect.

Big crack....

I like the fact we're being linked with players like Peltier, having said that, I'd hope we'd be signing him to play full back only.

Think he'd be the type of player who could comfortably make the step up, highly rated by the HTFC fans.

uddersfield Town want at least £1million for Leicester City target Lee Peltier.

Terriers manager Lee Clark has spoken to City assistant manager Derek Fazackerley about a possible deal for the 24-year-old right-back.

However, Clark said Huddersfield were in no rush to part with Peltier, right.

Fazackerley knows the former Liverpool youth product from his days at the Galpharm Stadium and is an admirer.

City must recruit a right-back as they are resigned to missing out on first-choice Kyle Naughton, who is unlikely to return to the Walkers Stadium after his loan spell from Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Alternative right-back Michael Lamey has been released from his contract and Robbie Neilson has also been told to find another club, leaving City with a right-back problem.

There were unconfirmed reports City had already tabled a £500,000 bid for Peltier, but Clark said talks were not that advanced for the England Under-18 international.

He will take a similar approach with other wanted stars, goalkeeper Alex Smithies and striker Jordan Rhodes.

"I have had a conversation with one person, manager to assistant manager (Fazackerley)," Clark told the Huddersfield Examiner. "That's as far as it's gone.

"You are talking seven-figure fees for each of the three of them, and not small seven-figure fees.

"But I have talked it through with the owner (Dean Hoyle) and the board, and there is no pressure to sell. None at all.

"We want to keep them and, if they are ready to go again in League One, then we will happily keep them all."

City are closing in on their first signings of the summer and are hoping to complete several deals in the next few days.

The Mercury understands bids have gone in for at least two players and offers have been made to several free agents, and a couple of deals could be completed soon.

However, City have not yet made a bid for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, despite national newspaper reports, although the 24-year-old remains under consideration as a possible target.

City have spoken to the Robins about Maynard, but have yet to make an offer and have some reservations about his fitness.

Maynard missed nine months of last season with a serious knee injury, although he returned in February and scored six goals in 13 appearances.

Maynard is Bristol's record signing after they paid Crewe Alexandra £2.25m for him four years ago, but he has one year left on his contract and has so far failed to agree a new contract at Ashton Gate.

It is understood the Robins are not willing to cash in on their prize asset at the moment.

City remain in talks with former England international striker David Nugent's representatives about bringing the 26-year-old free agent to the Walkers Stadium, but no agreement has been reached yet.
