Guest MattP Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 That is ****ing terrifying. They must be odds on. Brazil prices up as faves with most bookies Looks like more cash to be made on Spain
Tielemans63 Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 That is ****ing terrifying. They must be odds on. As I've said in another thread, the Spanish are either world or European champions at U17, U19 and U21 levels. They have ridiculous strength in depth and will have for a long time to come.
Daggers Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 Didn't realise the Cricket team was ever referred to as GB. I never said it was.
Guest MattP Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 I never said it was. What does "cricket like transformation" imply then?
Daggers Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 What does "cricket like transformation" imply then? Go back, re-read my post slowly (letting your lips move if that helps) and see if you can fathom it out for yourself. If you are still none the wiser then go ask someone else as I don't get paid to help slow-readers on the internet.
Guest MattP Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 How long until the name undergoes a cricket-like transformation from GB to England&Wales to simply England? I don't understand what is meant by this, the England cricket team has always been known as England and associated with the Welsh board. We have never been known as GB, we have had a joint board with Wales since 1997 and Scotland and Ireland are affiliates to us as a test status nation which enables both to compete as their own countries for ODI's but players be allowed to be selected for test playing roles for England if good enough. I really don't see any correlation between this and the recently formed Great Britain football team.
21st Century Fox Posted 4 July 2012 Posted 4 July 2012 BBC One will be broadcasting Team GB's warm-up against Brazil on Friday 20th July @ 19:30pm.
RonnieTodger Posted 5 July 2012 Posted 5 July 2012 We really could have a better squad than the one we have. We'll do well to get past the quarter-finals.
21st Century Fox Posted 5 July 2012 Posted 5 July 2012 Brazil Olympic Squad Goalkeepers: Rafael Cabral (Santos), Neto (Fiorentina) Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Rafael (Manchester United), Danilo (Porto), Alex Sandro (Porto), Thiago Silva (AC Milan), Juan (Inter Milan), Bruno Uvini (Sao Paulo) Midfielders: Romulo (Vasco da Gama), Ganso (Santos), Oscar (Internacional), Sandro (Tottenham Hotspur), Lucas (Sao Paulo) Forwards: Neymar (Santos), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan), Leandro Damiao (Internacional), Hulk (Porto). Replacements: Marquinhos (Corinthians), Giuliano (Dniepr/UKR), Cassemiro (Sao Paulo), Gabriel (AC Milan/ITA) Strong side, I've got tickets to see them

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 We really could have a better squad than the one we have. We'll do well to get past the quarter-finals. We aren't particularly good but I actually think we have a ok chance of a medal (more than likely bronze) Senegal and UAE are dog rough, while 1st would be ideal so we play what will prolly be South Korea or the Swiss, even if we finish 2nd we'll be playing Mexico, and I think we'd stand a decent chance against them. Win that, get battered by Brazil or Spain, beat Uruguay in the 3rd 4th place game . TBH anything we pick up from Football men or womens will be a bonus.
Finnegan Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 Mexico have been ridiculously good at youth level for years, I wouldn't be dismissive of them.
Simo86 Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 Mexico have been ridiculously good at youth level for years, I wouldn't be dismissive of them. If they've got Carlos Fierro playing for them we've got no chance
AyewJoking Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 So there are two maybe three teams better than ours? Excuse me while I go shít myself.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 I've actually got tickets for Mexicos second group game. I also get to see Gabon, can't wait for that.

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 Maybe you could try and poach some of their players? The Lamb could be a very intriguing offer to them I have just looked the only two players I have ever herd of are Carlos Salcido and Dos Santos. Rest all play in Mexico so they can't be that amazing. We don't need Mexicans we have a Polish super star. And It's Ivanhoe

Manwell Pablo Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 Mexicans? I was on about snapping up so Gabon stars!! Sorry old habit Hmmm I might check their squad see if I've ever herd of any of them..... I have checked, and I have herd of none Although they are yet to announce their over 23 players so hopefully Cousan plays. By the looks of it we probably could tempt a few of them away most of them actually play football in Gabon.

Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 6 July 2012 Posted 6 July 2012 I thought guys like McArthur & Bannan might represent the Scots and maybe McCourt for NI. I take it the SFA and IFA weren't keen in their players being selected? It's because their players aren't good enough to get into the squad. The Welsh FA didn't want their players involved but they got picked because they have good players.
