foxfanazer Posted 9 July 2012 Posted 9 July 2012 It's looking more and more likely that teams that didnt qualify for the euros have a massive advantage over the ones that did Uruguay and brazil?
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 10 July 2012 Posted 10 July 2012 The point was if Pearce's motive was to give young player's tournament experience then letting one of them Captain the side surely would have been useful. I think Pearce thinks he has assembled a squad that can win, the bloke is deluded. The whole point is to try and win the tournament.
21st Century Fox Posted 16 July 2012 Posted 16 July 2012 Daniel Sturridge is given the green light to meet up with his Team GB team-mates for the first time today after being given the all-clear by Chelsea doctors following his bout of viral meningitis. Sturridge has started light training to ensure he is ready for Great Britain's London 2012 opener against Senegal at Old Trafford on 26 July.

Leicester_Numan Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I'm watching the ladies friendly. It amazes me that Aluko manages to get in the England team. How the hell did she make the British team? There must be a striker shortage in Britain. She's got pace but nothing else
Rincewind Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 According to the TV guide on my TV Gt Britain are playing Sweden. It was the women that played them earlier its Brazil. Dont the ones who input the information check up on it? Are the players still supposed to be amateur?
purpleronnie Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 Massive crowd for the Riverside. Its such a strange thing, a team made up of what normally are rivals, fans who pretty much hate eachother sitting together wanting the same team to win, new team, no songs, no atmosphere, the whole thing is odd.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I think I heard more crowd noise the time I watched a schools international from the Globe Arena.
Vacamion Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I think I heard more crowd noise the time I watched a schools international from the Globe Arena. If the Welsh (and Sturridge) are going to stand there pouting like Posh Spice whilst the National Anthem is played, how do they expect the crowd to show any "passion"? Team GB should have an anthem that all 4 corners of the UK can relate to - Maybe the Benny Hill Theme Music or 4 Choruses of "Oggy Oggy Oggy - Oi - Oi Oi ".
AyewJoking Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I'm watching the ladies friendly. It amazes me that Aluko manages to get in the England team. How the hell did she make the British team? There must be a striker shortage in Britain. She's got pace but nothing else Is she related to Walcott?
Super_horns Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Brazil will win the gold I suspect. Not sure how much effort the GB players will really put in TBH given clubs might have told them to take it easy?
Toffee_Fox Posted 21 July 2012 Posted 21 July 2012 Anyone going games? Family member plays for the Women's team, so going most if not all of their games and one or two Men's games. Mainly to cheer on Magaye Gueye for Senegal.
Leicester_Numan Posted 27 July 2012 Posted 27 July 2012 Can see why jack butland is a wanted man! He nearly went up on wanted posters for that clanger he dropped tonight. Luckily got away with it. What a shocking tackle on Bellamy, could have broken his leg or ruptured his knee ligaments. The officials reminded me of some of the rubbish we had to put up with last season
Greg2607 Posted 27 July 2012 Posted 27 July 2012 slightly off topic but Chris Weale's brother appears to be competing in the olympics in the modern pentathalon??
Simo86 Posted 27 July 2012 Posted 27 July 2012 slightly off topic but Chris Weale's brother appears to be competing in the olympics in the modern pentathalon?? Yep he is. Sam Weale is Chris' identical twin
Wycombe Fox Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 I find the term 'Team GB' to be cringeworthy. Why not just 'Great Britain'?
Captain... Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 I find the term 'Team GB' to be cringeworthy. Why not just 'Great Britain'? Well technically we are Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so we should always and only ever use that and not shorten it for convenience or ease.
Wycombe Fox Posted 2 August 2012 Posted 2 August 2012 Well technically we are Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so we should always and only ever use that and not shorten it for convenience or ease. I agree. At least it's not 'Team GB and NI'
