Why's the ref stepping in so early and preventing potential KOs? I reckon some rules changed since the 80s and 90s? It looks very strange and awkward. Sorry if this question sounds silly, haven't followed modern boxing for a while.

Because these guys lives is more important than a sport. 

 

I agree if this was twenty years ago the ref wouldn't have stepped in and Fury would probably have been knocked out in the ninth round. 

 

But at what cost to his wellbeing long term? 

 

We know a lot more about head injuries and concussion syndrome now than we did then.

had that level going into the 12th and can't call the last round. Maybe Usyk up by 1 but can't see the judges giving him this
