Apparently he was abusing other revellers, hitting and spitting at people as well ..  he approached Francis in an aggressive manner and raises his hand.  It’s called self defence and funnily his employers and the police agree.

I missed the post fight chit chat, did they explain why the towel has been thrown in? I did see a replay where he seemed to clock the other lad about 6 times on the side of the head within about 10-15 seconds. He didn't seem too phased by it at the time though.

I think it was a case of the corner reacting too early. Just before the towel was thrown in, he did get hit flush with a right hook which rocked him but as you say, he wasn’t phased. Good enough to continue at the time.
