  1. 1. Should City bid for Shane Long?

    • Yes but no more than £6m
    • Yes but no more than £4m
    • Yes cash and player exchange
    • Only if we fail to land Nicky Maynard
    • Only if another Championship side makes a bid
    • No not a chance

The West Ham ITK Trap 1 seems to think that Shane Long isn't interested in a move to Leicester

http://www.kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=131371&start=13580

Interestering development in the Shane Long story..

Been told that Long's advisors have told Leicester City he isn't interested moving to them. Outside the premiership he would only consider West Ham Utd.

The boy has a touch of class.

he's from the irish sticks

not surprising

So being as his advisors have spoken to Leicester, I assume a bid has been accepted? Or has he also spoken to us?

Leicester indicated a bid, they indicated their response - nowt to do with Reading.

I find it quite funny how these deluded West ham fans think of themselves . They really think they are going to walk this league and that they only need a new striker . Judging by the standard of football i saw them play last season they are going to need a damn sight more than a new striker . Being run by a load of tatty porn-pimps won't help their cause either .

This is what Sven said in the forum last evening

This bit struck me

Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson has confirmed Reading’s Shane Long is a transfer target.

The former England boss admits it will be tough to land the Royals talisman, but is desperate for a proven goal-scorer.

As reported by the Reading Post last week, Eriksson has been interested in the Republic of Ireland international for some time.

“To be honest, he is one on the list, but he may end up in the Premier League this season, so it will be difficult, but he is one we have worked with,” Eriksson said.

“We are working on taking in one or two more and if we are going to do that it is going to be a big name, important players otherwise we are not going to do anything.

“We are working on it and it would be a dream to take in someone who can score over 20 goals.”

Has Robbie Keane ever scored 20 league goals in a season? Genuine question.

Nope, 17 is his best return but that was when he was in and out of the team at Tottenham.

He did do very well at Celtic though, 12 in 16 is a good return. I could see him doing well at Championship level.

if we get this one i recon it could be the difference between going up and not, definatly worth the money if we can but he will probley end up in pl

Absoultely agree with ya there mate!

Seems like i'm about the only one not sold on him. He had an awesome season and maybe he is a great prospect, but that's it he's had one good season. Maybe signing him would be nice but to take an 8m chance on him is far too much. If we're going to spend that much on a striker I expect him to be more established.

HAHAHAHA only consider West Ham? Idiot, complete tosser. He's had one good season now he thinks he's all that? If he really said that then we don't need an arrogant twat like him. Let's get someone in who actually wants to play for us and build a name for himself over time rather than trying to and failing to walk into a club that's more established at this particular moment in time than us. West Ham are on a downward spiral, we're going the opposite way. Looking at this guys stats, there's no way he's worth 8 mil. We do not need to be one of them clubs that start over spending because of one good season, we're better than that.

Nearly every word of this is absolue horse shit.

You instantly assume what a randomer has said about him is true, you then go on to call him all manner of names based on this nothing rumour. Overspending cause of one good season? What good season? West Ham are on a downward spiral? Apparently you can see into the future as well. We're going the opposite way? What happens if we don't go up and the owners do a runner?

Some of our fans sound worse than some of the braindeads that come on here from other teams forums.

Erm seems like more than one person seems to think that he only wants to go to the PL or West Ham. If he signs for us then i'll happily retract my comments about him being arrogant. Maybe they're wrong who knows but bottom line is he has had one good season. Getting relegated is pretty much the start of a downward spiral, maybe they'll turn it around but being relegated means you are GOING DOWN so it's an obvious slide from being an established premier league team. General consensus is that we're in the best position we have been in for many years financially and team wise so yes we are going the opposite way. Maybe not right now but we're in the right direction. And overspending because SHANE LONG had one good season not us.
