I was referring to Sky Sports's coverage of it. Not to mention Harry Redknapps interview where he actually laughed at the prospect of Basle knocking then out before saying "no chance, it's Man Utd and we all know what they do".

Triffic prediction there 'Arry.

A little bit of Tevez out the door.

A little bit of Vidic on the floor.

A little a bit of Nasri on the side.

A little bit of Rooney shooting wide.

A little bit of Mario having a laugh.

A little bit of Nani on his arse...

Hardly surprising, given the outcome of yesterday's games.

Zagreb goalkeeper Kelava looks particularly disinterested, as if he was told not to put in too much effort.

And Ajax having two goals disallowed.

Hmmm... fishy.

Not to mention Real's first goal which was just offside. And Kelava looked particularly poor for their second and fourth goal. Their defense might as well not have shown up either. Considering the score at half-time and that Dinamo went ahead with ten men, that second half looks even more extraordinary.

Mark Clattenburg reffed the Lyon match... Surprise surprise.

And apparently the ref at the Ajax game was a CL debutant...

No comment on the Zagreb match, didn't watch it, but Ajax losing by a few to Real is hardly surprising.

They should have been 2-0 in front at HT, not 0-1 behind. A point would've been well within their reach seeing as Real had nothing to play for.

I don't think their is any foul play in the Real Ajax game, they didnt need to make it 3-0 to go through either, 1-0 Real would have suffficed given the magnitude of Lyon's win.

Clearly something is very amiss in the 2nd half in Zagreb from the Croatian players though, I've watched the highlights and they almost look like they have all been drugged they are that slow to react to anything.

There's probably nowt wrong with the players in the Real Ajax game, but the officials got three crucial decisions 'wrong'. You're right that Real winning isn't a surprise as such, and they still fielded a strong and pretty motivated side, so they might've won anyway.

I think the drugged thing could be correct. You know those air freshener things that automatically spray even when nobody touches them (hate the things), I reckon that something similar happened where some relaxant was sprayed in the Zagreb dressing room at half time with the players not knowing about it. Was the manager looking lethargic aswell?

Big sport is knackered bacause of underworld gambling syndicates.

Is there anything you don't think is some sort of conspiracy?

Just out of interest what makes you believe they were drugged?

You know your boxing so you will know what I mean, it reminded me of Klitschko Brewster when Wlad came out for the 5th round, went from total domination and looking in tip top shape to not being able to stand up within 35 seconds.

This is massive across eastern europe as well, the amount of strange betting patterns you see on football and tennis on betfair, its beyond a joke and the authorities seem to have not intention of getting to the bottom of it.

I was joking with the drugs in the changing room air, although it is very possible. There are even beam type weapons that can make people spew up and become drowsy, ill or even deaded! The Russians were using said beams in the 70's aimed at office blocks where victims were working. But nobody wants the Champions League thread to get bogged down in conspiracy so I won't waffle on!

I'm not saying they were drugged, was just adding to MattP's words that they looked drugged because of how little effort they put in 2nd half.

Surely nobody denies that there is some sort of conspiracy going on in this case. It's dodgy as can be.

:D All I've been inhaling is fresh air and a few trumps.

I never saw that fight, had a couple of years around that time (met the Mrs) when I hardly saw any boxing. Just had a look and I read that Wlad's blood test samples went missing at the hospital after the fight. Not sure if it's true but if so then that is very fishy.

I'm not sure the authorities could do anything about these gambling syndicates even if they wanted to because the syndicates are very powerful, dangerous and ruthless from what I've heard. And they do it all "from the shadows" so if anybody does get locked up it certainly won't be the guys who pull the strings. Just a few patsies. Hopefully I'm wrong though and they do all get caught or the sports get cleaned up some other way.

Widely regarded that happened.

Just watched it again now on youtube (

), he went from scoring a knockdown and totally dominating to not being able to even walk back to his corner next round. Dodgy as anything.

CSKA Moscow - Real Madrid

Zenit - Benfica

Marseille - Inter

Can't see the English teams progressing from those ties!

I think Arsenal will be alright. Each time they've been to San Siro in CL they've won (5-1 vs Inter, 2-0 vs Milan).

Chelsea have got a tough tie. Napoli shouldn't be underestimated at all.

My picks to go through:

Lyon

Napoli

Arsenal

Barcelona

Bayern

Real Madrid

Zenit

Inter

Also first time Italy have had more teams representing the country more than Spain since 2004/05.

I remember that 5-1 versus Inter. It was about a week before they came to play us at the Walkers.

I was certainly fearing the worst.
