Tielemans63 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 I assume we didn't go in for Chopra cuz (allegedly) he's a right awkward fooker - we should have been though. Oh and Danny the Fox is dead right - we've been a bit unlucky here and there but overall there's been way too much dicking about.

purpleronnie Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Altidore is hit and miss really. Has some outstanding games and others he's non existent. You probably saw some bad games, there are some bad games where the quality is poor and this year seems to be a step up even from last year. It's nice to see some players who are by no means past it in the form of Becks, Henry and Keane (Obviously towards the end of their careers but still could offer PL teams a decent showing) over here as it does improve the standard and the fanbase seems to increase because of this, however I definitely don't like players like Keane going there at the expense of a move to Leicester !!! One thing that gets me about how big it is getting is that there are a number of bars that screen the games and fans meet up for them. Back when I first came to the States, the only place this was possible was the big cities; now even the smaller towns have meetups! Yep, I first started to live in the states around 10 years ago, its like night and day now, theres no question that 'soccer' is one of the main sports in the US now, with more and more fans becoming dissalussioned with the superstars of basketball and NFL who demand huge money or else they'll strike just speeds up the popularity of the MLS where NFL stars are distant with fans players in the MLS have been known to stand with fans during the game. Soccer is close to surpassing some major sports in seattle and portland is soccer mad. Signing Keane will only increase popularity and attendances.

purpleronnie Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 he should of said 'I've never wanted to play at leicester'
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 it aint over til the fat lady sings but Susan Boyle has been singing for a while now
Libertine Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Why is this still open he has signed for LA Why are you still posting in it? Why am I still posting in here? Why the hell do we even exist?!
shade Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 why is the answer to a question that doesn't exist.
purpleronnie Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 At least I'll get to see him play when I go over.
Father Ted Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 We piss about to much if we want Maynard lets go get him put another bid in why wait 3weeks its only the team suffering. Chopra was the best buy this season for a championship team how he was off our radar a don't no. Come on Sven finish the job off. When Chopra signed for Ipswich everybody on here was slating him off and now he's bagged a couple of goals and we can't get a striker everyone is suddenly saying 'why didn't we go for him'... As for the people wanting Kevin Phillips Even more laughable, 'he's too old, he's 37' and now I see loads of people saying we should have signed him because he's scored for Blackpool. Some of the people on this forum really piss me off.

Can't honestly see him playing 46 games.
phildw Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 Chopra = natural goal scorer Phillips = natural goal scorer Can't believe we never even considered making an offer for these type of players. We pissed about with Maynard and now we are desperate for anyone. Can't believe people on here quoting "I know he scored 2 at the weekend but Phillips is too old". Laughable. He may not play in every game but he knows where the net is and for a free he was well worth the gamble. As for Chopra it was a no brainer. Best striker in Championship and as for people saying we shouldn't sign him because he's got a bit of an attitude! Again laughable.

With regard to Maynard I think he pissed us about, from West Ham ITK here are a number of factors surrounding Maynard. He will be on a free at the end of the season He has just recovered from a long term injury The club need the money to strengthen, but Maynard thinks he is the next Wayne Rooney and should be playing in the premiership. City don't want to sell to a rival championship club, but as was pointed out, Doncaster are more likely to be their rivals than West Ham. They have openly said they will accept £5 million from a premiership club. Maynard has come out in the local press and said he wont sign a new contract, so that puts the pressure back on city. The fans are slating him for his attitude (No surprise to me). Soton have an interest but Maynard has none in them. He would have an interest in signing for us. Finally he is a grade a C*nt so who knows where he will end up.

Tielemans63 Posted 15 August 2011 Posted 15 August 2011 The Prem probably. I honestly think if he had any interest in City he'd be here already.
