topharry123 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Transfer deadline is 8:59pm Pacific time (04:59 tomorrow morning our time) I think Keane's paperwork would have been in for Friday's preliminary admin deadline so now it's all relying on the other player moving on before the actual deadline in about 10hrs There's talk here of Angel joining Philadelphia today so it looks pretty likely that Keane will be a Galaxy player by the end of the day. Reports are that he'll demand a loan move so it's possible we could end up with him on loan still?
purpleronnie Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 This will be great, no doubt my inbox will be full of my yank mates taking the piss.
topharry123 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 News coming out of LA is that Angel did not train today and was not even there. It looks like it's going to go ahead if Philadelphia get a deal done for Angel today, or if anyone else comes in for him. If Angel stays, Keane does not sign. If he goes, Keane will like be a Galaxy player in the next 12 hours.
Jaspa Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Bryan Swanson just announced live on SSN, that LA Galaxy have had a bid accepted and the deal looks to be moving 'quickly' @ 10:12 pm
MikeyT Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Oh well, it was a nice theory while it lasted. Whose next?!
topharry123 Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Bryan Swanson just announced live on SSN, that LA Galaxy have had a bid accepted and the deal looks to be moving 'quickly' @ 10:12 pm Bid accepted or not, if they don't get rid of Angel they can't sign Keane ! Unless of course they sign him up for under $335k a year, then bump him up once they have gotten rid of Angel at the end of the season
Jimothy Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 It's good for Keane that he's going there. He's supported Galaxy since he was a boy.
Austin Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 It's good for Keane that he's going there. He's supported Galaxy since he was a boy. so that's Celtic Tottenham Liverpool and LA Galaxy he supported as a kid! fooking hell! Edit: Leeds, Cov?, Inter milan aswell!
1991FOX Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Fourth_Official Fourth Official Robbie Keane signs for LA Galaxy for a fee of £3.75m after rejecting an offer from Leicester #THFC #LCFC
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Robbie Keane what a willy puller, what a willy puller
Callabinho Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well what now, do we try and out bid Southampton and WHU for Maynard?
Happy Fox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Well what now, do we try and out bid Southampton and WHU for Maynard? Well what choice do we really have left, unless we go abroad or if we can entice a prem striker on loan
Dan Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 Fvcking L.A Galaxy. What a cringeworthy bunch of shit. The fvcking "MLS" Major League "Soccer", why must we miss out to these bellends. Fvck off.
ScouseFox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 He's past it anyway, didn't really want him coming for one last pay day.
thybluefox Posted 14 August 2011 Posted 14 August 2011 So then; a) we pay whatever we need to to get Maynard. b) bring an unknown/unproven-in-English-football foreigner in from Europe. c) we get some out of favour prem striker on loan. d) or Sven just asks everyone to cross their fingers that what we have now might bundle us over the line.

I'd say A and C are the most likely outcomes based on how Sven's moved in the market before. We do seem to be on our 5th or 6th choice now though.
