berniethebolt Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Interesting interview. Clearly wants to move on and I read this as a 'come and get me' interview. He realistic home is a bottom half prem side but if the offers do not come we stand a great chance, asumming he's wanted by Sven. Everton with there striker issues may take a punt opening up other avenues with us again.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I'd be amazed if a Prem team doesn't want him - we would have to do something wagetastic to get him here. I'd have him here like a shot. I can say that because it's not my money
bluearmyfox23 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I'd be amazed if a Prem team doesn't want him - we would have to do something wagetastic to get him here. This especially some of newcomers !
Happy Fox Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 I think if we put in a bid for him and make our intentions known to him we could sway him here, It not is if that he still won't play for ROI, the championship is a good standard, I would like him here
bluearmyfox23 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Would love him here would be great with nugent and maybe some else upfront
Chazwaz Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 He would seriously tear up this league, but if he chooses to go to a championship side surely he would favour West Ham after his loan spell?
whitlock Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 He might not of necessairly enjoyed his time at west ham tho....
Joethemightyone Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 If we don't TRY to get him then we are retarded! He would be immense in this league!
andog Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Too right, depending on his wages I'd love to have him here at City - He's a constant goal threat
Joe. Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Really wouldn't surprise me if he does turn out to be the man we get in on loan. Some Premier League sides may be put off by his wages and shoddy performances for West Ham last season, and Sven will obviously leap at the chance to get him here. He'd be a cracking signing, absolutely no doubt.
Bezzanator89 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Let's face it, if the Yak's wage demands were too much, why would we pay what will be more for Robbie Keane?
MrSpaM Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Keane and Nugent up front would be an amazing front two
Aidy3 Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Would love to have him here just so he can do that legendary celebration when he smashes one in against F***st!
FazzaF Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Yes please! Proven goal scorer at every level, Hopefully he will bag a few for his country tonight. £5,000,000 nothing more
foxfanazer Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Don't care what anyone says keane would tear this league a new ar**hole! Fact
Ali_Mauchlens_Tash Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Too much time playing champ manager has warned me off paying big money and big wages for players of his age with very little resale value....would prob play out a 3 year contract...at a guess 3-4 million fee - 30k a week minimum wage looks like 8 million deficit for 3 years service. Plus he doesn't have the best history with injuries, and is on the downslope. Paying his wage demands in 2.5 years time when he is a yard slower and set to see out his contract could be very costly. Not for me thanks

Not for me thanks His goals THIS season would be the extra to help is get to the premier league.. What does 3 years away matter? Or his resale value? Look how much extra revenue can be made just getting promoted.. Half the squad won't be here next season should we go you let alone 3 years away
Mr.Lowe Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 http://sport.uk.msn.com/football/news/keane-braced-for-spurs-exit Apologies if this has already been posted.
Wymsey Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Gave an interview on SSN yesterday, saying he doesn't want to drop down a league.
Marmite Posted 10 August 2011 Posted 10 August 2011 Gave an interview on SSN yesterday, saying he doesn't want to drop down a league. He did'nt say that he would'nt, he said he preferred to stay in the Premiership and if an offer came in then he would, however he would not rule out a move if a bid was accepted. To be fair the interview was all muffled and with his strong Irish accent it was pretty difficult to hear

I will be watching of course. Long is playing too. A tear in my eye and a bitter tinge in my gut. I don't care what the doubters say, he would do a job for us had he come.
