James18 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 The media and other football fans will give us stick for losing, but all is fine. It's still early days and Reading are a good side. It was always going to be a tough game and we aren't Man United, we're going to lose games. Forget about today and look forward to Wednesday against Bristol.

Tielemans63 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Don't like 433 - neither do the players it seems. Need a winger or two as much as we need a striker.
Matt Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Right normally after someone else posting something like this I'd post a pic of a knee jerk as a reply but, pissed off, very pissed off. Schmichael was the only decent player and that was only down to his motivation and 'passion', but we were shit can't offer much more of an opinion at the moment, sounds simple but I honestly believe the addition of a striker would have made the difference, I don't believe one player makes a team but one player, being a striker completes a team. We all knew we needed a striker all last season, we all knew a striker was the priority at the end of last season, why if this is our priority signing are we still in ****ing August looking and struggling for a striker?!
Fox 4 Life Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Problem is I still can't see how we are going to score goals this season, nugent will score as he has hit the post in both games but where else will the goals come from?! Abe, wellens, fernandes is WAY too defensive
gogogoagan Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 We cannot play a five midfield setup and expect to win at home. Poor tactics, did Spen do his homework?
Danno Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 what a ****ing load of wank. We payed a hell of a lot over what Mills is really worth, we need a good striker, Nugent is good but keeps missing good oppurtunies. Winger need too. Only Kaspar seemed to want to play today. Sorry if it sounds like a knee jerk reaction, but if we think we can win the league we need to beat sides like Reading.

God I wish all our fans thought like that. VERY early days, we've got a completely new squad, if it was December i'd be worried but it's two games in, and we won the first one.

But it's the way the team lost today that is disappointing. Hardly any fighting spirit, no cohesion. Early days, I know. And even Manchester United lose games. At times.
cc_star Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Don't like 433 - neither do the players it seems. Need a winger or two as much as we need a striker. I don't think the players knew what they were doing 1st half. It was pretty similar last week in the 1st half although Vassell's red card masked the situation Danns certainly wan't playing as a wide forward in 4-3-3 and Schlupp put in more tackles than most, it seemed to be a confusing 4-5-1 with the midfield & forward(s) not having a clue what each other was supposed to be doing. Sounds to me like Sven & Faz have their work cut-out in the coming week. 3 points against a team everyone on here as said will be going down, is a must. Surely? Else confidence could get hard to come by
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Abe was woeful first hAlf . Can't work our if nugents crap or is just so isolated. I don't want to complain but we had s better team last season judging by cob and today. Last week the result hid a crap performance where if we had played anyone decent wed have lost again. Danns looked poor too. Bamba and wellens were the only ones who played well
Head Honcho Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Rico used to love this track! No seriously though. We're going to get beaten at home and away this season, It's about how you handle it. Bouncebackability
easilee Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Sven has got to vary the team a bit to see what we can expect in future games. He would have learned a lot about who plays well with who under real game conditions. Gutted but not that worried.
svens uncle Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Has sven learned anything since he was england manager always sets teams up to negative and i feel he shows no passion on touch line and i feel this comes accross to players also can never change course of game with substituions can never change game plan bring back Martin O'neil
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 I guess money can't buy you a winning team It worked last weekend, though. So I guess it does work, occasionally.

Well said , its a new squad , cohesion will come , players need to gel , we will get stronger as the season continues. .......guttteeeddd tho!!............. thats football !!!!!!!!
Brown Fox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Surprised at the reaction on here! Was expecting blood to be coming out of my computer screens after people had slit their wrists but most have looked on it in a philosophical way. Personally not worried by this result. We still need to gel fully as a team, Reading are a bunch of twats who will always and forever beat us regardless and we have 44 games left. Wasn't there so can't comment too much on performances but sounds like most had a shocker which is probably down to having almost a completely new team.
HoustonFox Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Sven sounding a little less bullish about a striker now...
MC Prussian Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Has sven learned anything since he was england manager always sets teams up to negative and i feel he shows no passion on touch line and i feel this comes accross to players also can never change course of game with substituions can never change game plan bring back Martin O'neil Sven has learned a lot since he was england manager always tries to improve his squad and sets out to win games he does show passion but you must remember he is a very calm man in his sixties and the word pas'hun means nothing to him he prefers drinking tea and we did win last weekend away at coventry in case you have missed that
topharry123 Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Well said , its a new squad , cohesion will come , players need to gel , we will get stronger as the season continues. .......guttteeeddd tho!!............. thats football !!!!!!!! I agree, but a new striker still looks like a must. I know we're only 2 games in but the quality we have up front is much lower than last season. Add in a decent striker and we're going to do well.
phildw Posted 13 August 2011 Posted 13 August 2011 Sorry - but from that post match interview Svennis hasn't got a f...cking clue! He thought we went 4-4-2 in the first half - did we bollox.... shambles
