Has sven learned anything since he was england manager always sets teams up to negative and i feel he shows no passion on touch line and i feel this comes accross to players also can never change course of game with substituions can never change game plan bring back Martin O'neil

WUM - check his other posts before biting

I think this is going to send a clear message to the owners/investers, we are not the finished article.

Expect a major signing this week

One bad game and this.

Really?

I know.

And the ones who say 'bring back Martin O'Neill' invariably fail to even spell his fvcking name right.

That was awful. We were set up wrong. We seemed to intent on playing keep ball rather than putting any emphasis on attacking. Mills thought he was still playing for Reading. Can't believe there were idiots booing.

Although we got the win last week and our game plan went out of the window after 11 minutes. We didn't really look like a team that would trouble a team of like Reading.

Hindsights a great thing but I think most will agree.

We need someone who can take control of a game and I don't see anybody anywhere near being able to do that with our current system.

The most worrying thing about today was our defence which to be honest last week looked solid.

Can't comment too much as wasn't at the game today so would appreciate some feedback, positive feedback if that's at all possible!

No point in slagging players off as I think we have the right players for promotion but Sven really needs to find a system that suits them all.

Congratulations - most idiotic comment of the thread.

TOTAL over reaction on here, get a grip everyone - did you REALLY expect for the team to turn up and win 4-0 every game.

definately the wrong set up for a home game, dont get me wrong Reading are a decent side but if we had gone at them, we would have got some points on the board today :dunno:

Totally agree about Mills . I have not seen such a home début shocker since Akinby . He looked like a Rabbit caught in the headlights . I know we can't take too much from this game but it was a total shambles with one or two exceptions. no way will this team get promoted the writing is on the wall .

We could clearly see who were the men and who were the boys in our team today.

Konchesky, Pantsil, Fernandes and Wellens were excellent

Mills was shocking

There is nothing in the final third, Nugent tried hard hit the post again but he needs service. We need two strikers not just one and we need them quick.

Everything is good apart from the final third and lack of striking quality, the midfield is good the defence was also good today but Mills was a massive let down can see why Reading didn't like him.

Only positives out of the game were the performances of Fernandes(again), Konchesky and Pantsil solid debut.

Also a mention to Kasper very good vocally, brilliant keeper but just a shame his passion didn't rub off on any others.

That game was utter Shambles. I know it's only the 2nd game, but Jesus Christ, is it that hard to tell Blue from Red!?

For those who booed at the end of the match, shame on you. Bit of a disgrace to be honest

Kasper = PASSSSSHHHHHUUUUUNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!

Matt Mills has no pace and can't pass a ball, paid 4 million too much from the looks of it.

Very worrying as we had no idea from first minute to the last.

Southampton now won 15 out of there last 17 league matches last 3 games 8 for 1 against they really have the habbit of winning and looking on there forum looks like there going to spend big this week football funny old game sven will be sacked before month is out

Don't be silly

We cannot play a five midfield setup and expect to win at home. Poor tactics, did Spen do his homework?

Didnt go today but went on Tues & last sat. I'm not surprised in the result as our football is so negative. We try & pass the ball so much we end up losing it! Gally on Tues night played behind Waggy and tried to go forward on most occasions creating chances for us. Sven tactics are wrong for a home side, we need to take the game to the opposition & look like a home side. You won't create chances pissing about in the centre circle. Nothing to do with needing a striker it's about tactics!!!

i must have been watching a differnt game as i thought pantsil was poor.. didnt think wellens did much either..

I know I keep banging on about formation but it'll be interesting to see if Sven makes changes and takes a less cautious approach. Teams don't tend to get promoted playing cautiously - look at last seasons promotees, QPR, Norwich and Swansea all played positive, attacking football and scored their way out of the division.

That was poor from City, really expected more from us.

Didn't look like we'd trouble Reading at all, and we didn't. Couldn't put three good passes together, and didn't look like a team. Only excuse is that they need time to gel.

Posted

I know I'll be ridiculed for this but it could quite easily have gone the other way. We were poor in the first half , we couldn't string 2 passes together, but we got away with that. Nugent hit the post before they scored against the run of play, the second goal was scored as we were chasing the game.

Reading have always been a bogie side for us anyway.

Schmichael, Bamba, and Nugent had a decent match.
