Interested to see what others pick, especially if I haven't heard them. I need to add "Bad As Me" by Tom Waits to the top of this list and move all the others down a notch.

Stay Positive Posted 3 November 2011 Author Posted 3 November 2011 A nod to the great albums by the over 60s then. I love the guy myself, but I'm yet to hear this. Well, I guess it depends which side of the man you prefer. I'd say it's his best album since "Mule Variations", possibly even since "Rain Dogs". It's actually the most melodic album he's put out in years. Funnily enough though, my favourite track on it is the less melodic, drill-sergeant sounding "Hell Broke Luce", which is so odd and lyrically astounding that all you can do is marvel at it.

Langston Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Agree with the Bombay Bicycle Club, Jamie Woon and City & Colour suggestions, all exceptional records. Smother by Wild Beasts has been getting a lot of play from me this year, it's fantastic album in my eyes.
