Title say's it all.

I was reading the BCFC forums and they have a thread on there saying Forests ex england manager is already legging it out of the city ground car park :dunno:

On a side note, looks like Plymouth is a club that is in serious trouble, feel sorry for their fans if true.

i definitely noticed that shhtevie was out in the press saying he wanted to sign a few before the deadline and he signed nobody. suprised this has lead to questions over his future, but not out of the blue.

He's obvioulsy been promised funds that simply havnt materialised. I think if i started a job, full of nice benefits and the key to the executive bathroom, and then when i actually landed it, be told that i was being given nothing, i think i'd walk from that job in the first few weeks too.

It's not really right for a manager to leave so early into his contract, but you can kinda see why he feels he's not got a choice. Looks like he's been lied to on a massive scale.

They have given more money to McLaren than they did Davies but McLaren's signings are not anything on Billy Davies' signings, probably with Greening being an exceptiion who I'd take at Leicester.

Greening has been gash by all accounts.

Just read this little gem on there forums too in relation to some of there players tweeting stuff about the current situation.

Dexter Blackstock has tweeted "Absolute Joke!" this morning, and this is a response from one of the fans.

"If we were indeed trying to tempt Heskey into coming here on deadline day then I'd be fuming in Dex's position of not even being given a chance before being wrote off."

Heskey to forest?

Are they flipping barmy?

Do they not realise he told his boyhood club that he wasn’t ready to drop down to the championship yet?

Unrealistic targets FTW!

I've got a bad feeling if he does leave Forest, they may approach Martin O'Neil :dunno:

Martin O/Niell would not go anywhere near a club that did not provide the actual funds and PROOF it is there before signing... He likes to spend money and likes to big time...

McClaren probably realised he would be in no financial state to quit now... He won't be able to spend any money anywhere, he wont be able to shape a squad - this soon after the transfer window is shut he will be in the same position everywhere as he would be at forest.

He'll be gone in January, though

So this means our expenditure this summer has been 8 times that of Forest? Pretty amazing when you think about it.

McClaren was never going to leave this early. He's just putting pressure on the owners to give him more money in January (which he won't get). Not good for them on any level at the minute.

Don't know why people are saying 'If Martin O'Neill goes there...' when he used to play for them and is pratically a hero there (isn't he?).

He is, but he outgrew them a long time ago. I doubt that if and when he returns to management, he'll go for a lower-league club.

Steve McClaren's fractious relationship with Nottingham Forest's hierarchy will be stretched to the limit when he asks the board to back him in the loan market.

The former England boss was on the verge of quitting Forest last week after his frustrations reached boiling point following what he regarded to be a disappointing transfer window.

Frustrating start: McClaren shows his dissapointment after Forest were beaten 4-1 at home by West Ham

McLaren is adamant Forest need to bolster their squad in order to stand any chance of gaining promotion from the Championship and he has players in mind for when the loan window opens on Friday.

Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand, who does not have a squad number for the Champions League, would be welcomed back at the City ground, while Tottenham's Andros Townsend is also on McLaren's radar.

He also wants to bolster his forward line, after being beaten to the punch by Leicester for Everton striker Jermaine Beckford on transfer deadline day.

Dialing a loan: McClaren needs to strengthen the Forest squad

An uneasy peace has broken out at the City Ground but clearly the manager still has a number of concerns and hopes the board will be able to assuage them by bringing in reinforcements.

A source said: 'Steve is still frustrated that targets were not landed as promised. Bringing in key loan signings will be crucial to his relationship with the Forest board.

'He knew promotion was on the club's agenda. Therefore he was looking for a couple of stellar signings to set the tone.

'Max Gradel slipped away, Wayne Routledge, a German target. The board kept saying, "Yes yes," – and then nothing. The squad is very thin.

'It's fair to say Steve is looking for the board to prove their support for him by how successful they are in the loan market once that window opens come the end of the week.'

Missed out: Target Jermaine Beckford (right) went to Leicester

McLaren became Forest manager in June when he signed a three-year contract after being lured by the promises of substantial financial investment.

But McLaren has only invested £1.8million in his squad, bringing in five players.

More significantly, he has offloaded nine and results in the opening weeks of the campaign have been erratic.

Poor Florist got beaten by us in the signing of Beckford

Greening has been gash by all accounts.

Yes but so have most of the team. He spreads the ball about very well though, and always has done. I remember watching him when we played West Brom and he used to switch it all day. Sits very well in midfield.

Greening's been ok, possibly a little light on defensive duties but overall ok. He does spread the ball around nicely and bridges that defence into midfield gap we had with Billy.

The real problem is we can't defend for toffee and only have 5 first team defenders so no real option to change stuff around. Schteve has adopted a zonal marking system and our defenders are either too dim or plainly not good enough to do it properly.
