Yeah whoever created that hasn't seem me smoke. normally get through 10-15 a day I'd be suprised it takes 30 mintues never mind 2 hours.

Anyway for personal reasons I am not allowed to publically reveal, I too have recently decided to kick the habbit. I am trying to do it without gum/patches/lozenges but I'll admit I am weak, although I've not had a fag since Saturday and have only used four lozenges which I think is fairly good going. I have not had anything yet today and I am gagging for a fag :glare:

You're right........it is incredible stuff.

How you can smoke like you always do (20+ for me) then after a few days, just not want to smoke ever again - I couldn't quite understand.

I would recommend them to anyone who can stomach them.....they did have quite a few side-effects as far as I was concerned. 10 mins after taking a pill.....on the verge of throwing up, but not quite. A general 'sickly' feeling all the time. Night time was the worst - not wanting to go to sleep, knowing that you will be woken up shortly by the most stupid dreams several times a night.

Like I said, I would recommend them & I know they have worked for others.....just not for me.

I have tried nearly every NRT going & it really does depend on will power more than anything else.......something I have never really had!!

Champix does totally kill cravings and will remove any pleasure you get from smoking even if you do light up. Wonder drug, I just forgot to take it half the time. lol

Dreams as have been said are the worst part, Vivid as anything.

I was in The Plantagenet the other day and this bloke was smoking what looked like a cigar. At first I was wondering how he had not been spotted by the staff, but the end of it was lit up green so I assumed it was a fake one. But he still seemed to be blowing smoke out. Not googled yet but I always thought something like that might be a good replacement for someone trying to give up. I don't smoke but smokers may just need to have something in their mouth rather than gum or sticking patches on arms.

The way the bloke was doing it though made me think it was the real thing. Holding his hand down by his side after inserting.

Just editing this to put the link in. Saw the post below. Can't you set a timer on it?

Their called E-fags. Don't like them, vapour hurts your throat more than a standard cigerate it's hard to gage when you've had enough and at the end of the day I want to stop smoking not have it replaced.

Quite commendable. Although 40 a day is impressive, and would cost more a week than I pay in rent :sweating:

I have forgot my NRT lozenges today, which means nothing until at least half five, so far not really had a craving which is good, especially given yesterday was a nightmare had about 4 or 5 loz's which is more than I had in the other 3 days before it combined. Still not smoked since Saturday though.

I've been recommended Champix by a few people. I've heard it's quite expensive - will GPs just prescribe it for you or will they try and fob you off with buying your own patches first?

My fags now cost £7.20 at my local petrol station. Madness.

What do people make of this then?

Smoking to be banned in public parks.

Just ban it everywhere, it is a stupid habit, to be honest it will be impossible to police, but asking people not to smoke where children play is not a bad idea, partly the smoke, partly the fag ends, and partly seeing people smoking will always arouse children's curiosity.

Times must have changed... I understand that is used to be seen as 'cool' so peer pressure convinced many to smoke. But when I was at college a year or so ago, smoking was mainly seen as 'dirty' (which it is), 'scummy' or only done by chavs in tracksuits. Mostly kids off the Monsel.

In high school, smoking was seen to be 'cool' but at GCSEs onwards it was seen to be done by the chavs and not cool at all
