Fox92 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Kasper - 6 - Nothing to do, kicking was unlike him at times Peltier - 8 - Way better than Pantsil Mills - 7 - Bamba - 8 Konchesky - 8 - Best game? Abe - 7 - Out of position, good in the air all game Wellens - 8 Fernandes - 7 - Out of position. King - 6 Vassell - 9 - Same old consistant Vassell. Top player. Beckford - 7
maynefox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Kasper: 6 (not much to do, nothing wrong, good kicks ) Pelts: 7 (we looked dangerous when attacking down his flank well played!) Bamba: 9 (had their attackers in his back pocket, great defending) Mills: 8 (not as good as bamba but still solid!) Konchesky: 7 (thought he did well made some good runs, not to much to get excited about, the performance that is) Wellens: 6 (played well, but didnt stand out) King: 8 (great work rate! he turns and runs at the defence creating gaps where Vas and Beckford can run into) Abe: 9 (in the first half i thought he was one of our best players controlling the ball in the midfield, and cracking header for the goal!) Fernandes: 6 (1st half he was very dire, but he upped his game, maybe im harsh to give him a 6, wernt his best game in a city shirt) Vassell: 9 (well ran, looked like we would score with him on the attack, a pest for the opposition. and good cross for Yuki's goal) Beckford: 7 (he looks sharp, that extra bush that we needed!) MOM: (tricky either Bamba/Abe, Bamba Played excellent and saved us a goal or two in some situations, but i was very impressed with Yuki today....) Abe MOM
bettso Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Kasper - 6 - Had nothing to do today so can only judge on his kicking which was 50/50 Peltier - 8 - Superb. Controlled his side of the pitch and got forward well. Mills - 7 - He's not here to spray 40 yard passes all over the pitch. Won his headers and tackled well. Looked good today. Bamba - 9 - Been unsure as to whether he should be in the team given his maverick style. Today was his best performance for Leicester to date. Excellent. Konchesky - 7 - Good coming forward and good defensively. Won his aerial battles. Wellens - 6.5 - Good but takes far too long over his passes. So many times today we had some momentum and he slowed the game down. King - 6 - The enigma that is Andy King. Seemed far too intent on sliding in Beckford when he should have shot a couple of times. Kept possession well though. Abe - 8 - Never wastes a pass. Always finds a blue shirt and is clearly passionate about the cause. Fernandes - 6 - Was all over the pitch but never really had any great impact. Vassell - 10 - Some twat sitting near me slagged him off every time he touched the ball. 'He's ****ing shit, get him off' every two ****ing minutes. Must have been watching a different game to the rest of the world as Darius was completely unplayable today. The centre back marking him was twice his size yet he beat him in the air every time, muscled him off the ball every time and generally skinned anyone at any point. Beckford - 8 - Some of his skill is a joy to watch. So obviously Premiership class. Once the midfield get used to his pattern of play, he'll score bucket loads. Subs : - Pantsil - 4 - ****ing hell. Schlupp - Not enough time to judge but if Vassell had just lofted a ball a little higher right at the death, he'd have been in on goal and would have buried. Sven - 10 - The top of the league team came full of beans and Sven sussed them out completely. Made them look completely ordinary.
5waller5 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Kasper 7 - Thought he let the ball bounce in the 6 yard box far too many times and needed to be more commanding, sat 4 seats from his dad today and noticed him whince a couple of times. Good distribution though and a clean sheet so can't have done bad. Koncheski - 7 solid Bamba 10 - outstanding, quick, strong and intelligent play... squeezed CMS out wide whenever he did get past him which was rare. Mills 8 - good attacking of the ball and v strong in the air. Peltier - 7 thought he could get forward / wide more often, but solid defensively. Abe - 9 one of his best games, good effort and lots of running Wellens 3/7 - frustrating first half- looked slow and well off the pace, better second half. King 7 solid perfromance - he must have had a bug or something though - he looked exhausted after 5 minutes! Fernandes 8 - lots of energy and drive, slightly wayward passing at times but enthusiasm made up for errors. Vassell 10 - excellent movement, great hold up play, created lots of opportunities and looked eager to have the ball Beckford 8 - looks like a quality player, when he's bedded in looks like he'll score for fun Sven 9 - sat behind him - was very active involved in the game and was really quite vocal, Tactics good, maybe a tad more width at times
Narborough_fox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 For the goal I was sat right next to Vas when he went past the player and he left him for dead. Really was unplayble today. Kasper 7 - Nothing to do. Peltier 8 - Solid, showed us how shrewd a signing he is Mills 8 - Starting to look more like the CB we payed a wedge for Bamba 10 - Solid as the Berlin Wall Konch 7 - Got down the wing well but set-pieces and delivery was poor Wellens 6 - Didn't get into the game at all. Corners were shite Fernandes 7 - Played well on the counter and cut down a lot of attacks. Silly booking King 7 - Made some dangerous runs and tried setting up Beckford for his first goal. Played well running through the defence. Abe 8 - Won a lot in the air and played well in a more attacking role. Good header for the goal. Vassell 10 - Wow, just Wow. Beckford 7 - Dangerous but Brighton just hacked him down and couldn't really do anything.
bluesbrothers Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Schmeichel 6 - Meh, not much to do and so-so distribution. A few routine stops though. Peltier 8 - lively, deserved a goal and preferable to Paintsil. Mills 6.5 - Can't say he did anything incredible today, but a solid enough showing. Improving for sure. Bamba 8- Great showing; despite his critics he is the rock in our defence at the minute. Had CMS in his pocket. Koncheskey 7 - Again, solid in his defensive role. Needs to consider not getting forward as regularly though, by the end was getting caught out occasionally. Wellens 7.5 - Solid and helped build every other attack. King 7 - Does his job, sneaking in the shadows and filling in everywhere he's needed. He's basically our swiss army knife. Fernandes 7 - Full of energy and clearly has the class for the top league. Silly yellow card cut his contribution though. Abe 9 - Immense first half, well deserved goal and some beautiful crosses and through balls. Best game for City, MOTM. Beckford 7.5 - Solid debut with the signs of class we want. Finally, someone who's not scared to run at defenders! Vassell 9 - An absolute engine! Get a copy of the match and show it to his detractors whenever they come out of hiding. SUBS: Paintsil 7.5 - Did a job from the bench, and saved our asses at one point. Cheers, John. Schlupp - Not on long enough. Shame, with his pace against a tiring defence it could have been a late whitewash if he'd come in 15 minutes earlier. The Manager Sven 10 - What can I say? Proof that Sven can work a tactical masterclass. Bamba tasked to Manmark CMS and Yuki Abe in a forward role, plus the 4-4-2 rotating diamond were perfect for the job, and save a few early flourishes from Albion, Leicester were dominant.
Adster Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Are you having a giraffe ? His passing in the first half was possibly the worst I have ever seen at the King Power - however he is paid to defend and keep a clean sheet which he did so fair play to the lad Okay maybe I've praised the lad a bit to much. But I have been fortunate to attend every league game this season and he's just frustrated me so much by not even bothering to jump for headers and constantly hoofing the ball and just giving away possession in general. But today he actually was winning and jumping for headers. Regardless the guys up front for Brighton we're giants but he still went for them and won about 90% of them. So I guess I was abit overjoyed at the time of giving him a ten. He did vastly improve today though.
ajthefox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Schmeichel 7 - Didn't really have a great deal to do, but what he had to do he did well. Peltier 7.5 - Extremely unlucky to have the goal chalked off and much more direct going forward than previously. Mills 7 - Really good in a backs to the wall situation, throwing himself at every ball. His distribution is worse than Kisnorbo's was though, and that's saying something. Bamba 9 - Misplaced his first two passes. After that, did no wrong. Outstanding. Konchesky 7.5 - Solid. Wellens 6 - Often misused the ball and, like Southampton, there were too many times that Brighton players had space in front of our back 4, where Wellens is supposed to be. Abe 8.5 - Great performance. Kept the ball well and even drove at their defence a couple of times. Great little header too. Fernandes 6.5 - The worst I've seen him for us. Gave the ball away a lot and picked up a ridiculous booking, but he was positionally sound and energetic as always. King 7.5 - Did a lot of good work running at their defence, and kept the ball well too. Defensively excellent too, and was key to our pressing game. Beckford 7 - Looked sharp but wasted a couple of decent half-chances. Vassell 8.5 - Whereas I've often thought he plays like a bull in a china shop, today he was subtle in control, energetic as always and put in a magnificent cross for Yuki. Sven 9 - Tactically brilliant. The way we pressed them high up the pitch was key to our victory, and Sven must take credit for devising this strategy, with Beckford, Vassell and King some as well for carrying it out. Also, he didn't allow the initiative to be conceded at any point. I've got a lot more to say about our pressing of their back 4, but don't have time for it now. But for me that was the most pleasing part of our performance. Totally agree with this.
ScouseFox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Vassell 10 Bamba and Abe 9 Beckford 8 7s all round after that. Beckford was a class above.
kingfox Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Schmeichel 5 - Just because he had nothing to do Peltier 9 - Absolute quality performance, brilliant attacking and defending Mills 7 - He actually played well today, brilliant second half Bamba 8 - What a beast, one of the best defenders in the entire league Konchesky 8 - Mr consistent did everything right today Wellens 6 - Not his best game, got on the ball but just kept lumping it in the box Fernandes 6 - Bit sluggish in the first half, but got in the game more towards the end Abe 8 - Quality performance playing on the right side, or near the right side brings the best out of him King 7 - Steady performance, linked up quite a bit but didn't really have a chance Vassell 9 - Along with Peltier our best player in my view, the right side was awesome today, Vassel ran his socks off Beckford 7 - Signs of promise, very fast and created chances died down towards the end of the game Pantsil 5 - One class clearance, but prefer Peltier by a mile on today's performance.
gazfox9 Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Kasper - 6 - Nothing to do really. Kicking sometimes a bit off. Peltier - 9 - Defended and attacked very well. Great 'goal' too. He is FAR better than Pantsil. Mills - 7 - Dominant in the air but his distribution is worse than Kisnorbo. Bamba - 9 - Mackail Smith got nothing. Great performance. Konch - 8 - Solid defensively and got forward. Abe - 7 - Good header, wasn't as good as people are making out. Wellens - 7 - Decent. Fernandes - 7 - Not up to his usual very high standards. King - 7 - Again, not brilliant. Vassell - 10 - Brilliant MOTM. So much energy and creativity. Great cross for the goal. Beckford - 7 - Showed glimpses. He will be an asset. Sven - 9 - Right formation! Now STICK with it. Ref - 6 - Good game I thought, except for disallowing the goal. Brighton - 5 - Top of the League? You're having a laugh. Disagree completely. Even without the goal he was my MOTM. Superb in possesion, won plenty of ball and worked his tits off.
ozleicester Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 ratings... (based on this weeks radio commentary) Schmeichel - good... wow he kicks it far Peltier - good .... wow he runs fast Mills - good... wow, he heads well Bamba - Good wow, he shouldnt let a midget head that Koncheskey - good wow, he missed that free kick Abe - good wow he scored Wellens - not sure he played King - he got one kick Fernandes - he got booked Vassell - Good, wow, hes like a good player Beckford - good, wow he runs a lot.
GianEmmo Zola Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 His passing was pretty awful again though, he certainly doesn't look like the 5m man out of him and Bamba. Hes only a centre half ?? What do you want from him a mazy run going past 8 players then slamming in a 30 yard screamer?? Hes a no nonsense centre half , give him some credit! He was immense today in the job he has to do. Block, tackle and clear. Did it all
The Doctor Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Schmeichel - 7 - Didn't do as much as in previous matches (which is encouraging) but he did what he had to with relative ease Peltier - 8 - Got forward well, posed a threat and a very good finish for the "goal" Bamba - 10 - Had CMS in his pocket all match long. Mills - 7 - Shaky at the start and his distribution was still iffy at points but he looks to be getting back towards the level he played for Reading last season Konchesky - 8 - Best performance by him so far. Wellens - 6 - First half he was quite peripheral and what he did do was not often up to scratch. Second half better but still too slow on the ball at points. Abe - 10 - Absolute quality performance, flitted around putting his foot in, got the team moving forward well and what a header. Fernandes - 7 - Quieter than usual but a decent performance from the boy. King - 7 - Decent passing, got into the box and supported Vassell & Beckford Beckford - 8 - Tore their defence wide open with stunning frequency, just to get hacked down as the chance opened up. Perhaps tried to over-play at times but a good performance Vassell - 9 - Brilliant cross for the goal and posed their defence no end of problems subs: Paintsil - 6 - Nothing much but a brilliant saving tackle on noone (?) near the end. Schlupp - Not on long enough Ref - 4 - Far too card happy and why the **** was Peltier's goal pulled back for a free-kick?
Guest shearfox Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Abe was man of the match, he was brilliant so was mills, Bamba, Peltier and Vassell. It was fantastic all around, we just completely controlled the game.
ithuriel Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 I was only really worried with Pantsil twice being too lax with the ball and getting caught in dangerous position's and occasionally Smeichels decision making with where he attempted to kick the ball into touch and instead gave the ball away, otherwise we looked by far the better team today.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Kasper - 6 - Didn't really have a great deal to do. Distribution was poor but can't really fault much else for the reason mentioned before. Peltier - 7.5 - His best game for us, by far. looked really good complimenting attacks, was reminiscent of Naughton on occasion, and that really is a plaudit. Hope that kind of form continues, we've got real diamond on our books, here. Bamba - 9.5 - Near enough faultless, for me. caught out of position once, maybe twice, but that was it. gave a striker we revered so much in the summer a real lesson on Saturday afternoon. Best centre half at the club, despite his 'bombscare' antics? Most possibly. Mills - 6.5 - Getting better. Distribution could still perhaps use a bit more work, but improving. looked assured alongside Bamba for the majority of the game which was a positive development in itself. Konchesky - 7 - As good as ever at getting into the space on the left flank, delivery to him is still lacking now and again. Another decent game from one of our most constant performers so far this season. Fernandes - 6 - Loses half a point for a really, really soft booking. Idiotic behaviour from someone with such experience. Other than that, looked solid without being as effective as he has previously. Wellens - 6 - At times, real good at spreading the ball and distributing it with intent. Other times, looked lackadaisical and lost. King - 6 -Some good off the ball movement, as always, but his final ball was uncharacteristically sloppy at times yesterday. Needs to improve decision making on the ball to improve. Abe - 8 - Pick of the midfield by some distance. Simple balls that allowed us to keep possession without surrounding attack weren't half refreshing considering the backward passing football we've witnessed at times this season Vas - 8.5 - Ran at Brighton with real intent, looked like he was full of confidence with a proper striker alongside him. Impressed with him and Beckford as an attacking duo. Beckford - 7 - Can tell the class is there, looked greedy at times though, almost as if he was trying too hard to impress. The quality is most certainly in there, though.
