maynefox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 I dont really mind it tbh, although I would rather not have it. (plus we do it to early!!!! thats what makes it more cringeworthy, it's like as soon as the ref has awarded the free-kick we do it.....then stop...... realise we've made ourself look like muppets......then do it again)

The Doctor Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 I'm delighted to see MTMH post and see that I'm not the only one who thinks it sounds like a speeding up steam train. Anyway, better than nothing (marginally) but I don't like it.
J.Lisemore Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Not a fan. like someone has already said, I would imagine it just puts players off.
Wymsey Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 This is what pisses me off in a way. People continuously moaning about this chant and that chant etc, free-kick claps etc, drum beats.. you name it. Nothing won't change until you try asking Jobber himself.

Anyway, better than nothing (marginally) but I don't like it. To be fair, a couple of the lads have been saying "CHOO CHOO" in response to it for a year or so.
lcfcsnow Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 I don't like it, but I suppose it is better than nothing. Better than nothing?? It's a free kick, we don't need to make a hand clap noise just because we are in a promising position. I don't want to hear anything but the excitement and tension from in and around the crowd, have people forgot how to express themselves without using their hands or something? It's Jobbers fault, him and his shit drum started this crap. Oh, and I've been against this for a while - http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=71842&view=findpost&p=1837843

lcfcsnow Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 I'd rather the fans made some shit clapping noise than no noise at all. There was no shit clapping noise for free kicks before the back end of last season and the atmosphere was fine. If I was a player I'd be put off by it.
Dan Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Despise it. As someone said, it's Wembley-esque, and the atmosphere there sounds appalling. I'd take come on you blues long and slow over that any fvcking day, even though I've not heard us sing it, just sounds good whenever anyone else sings it though. Come on Leicester loudly wouldn't hurt either. But aye, glad someone mentioned this. It's abysmal. 0/10.
The Doctor Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 You've never heard us sing "come on you blues"? For shame.
Dan Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Eh? You mean like "COOOOOOOOOOOOOOME OOOOOOOOOOOOON YOU BLUUUUUUUUUUUUUUES". No, I haven't. Not got a problem with us not singing it, I just reckon it sounds quality whenever anyone sings that tune and wouldn't be against us singing it at all.
sphericalfox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Do we like it? I much prefer the sarcastic applause with hints of indignation Perhaps a little 'golf clap' never goes amiss either http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vw9hePLP4c
Mack Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 ALL noise inside the stadium must be approved by the acceptable noise committee. Does this include guffs?
Houdini Logic Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I like it, but that's probably because every time it starts I start singing 'let's dance' by Chris Montez. 'Hey baby won't you take a chance...'
Corky Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 How often do we score direct from a free-kick? All that anticipation for little excitement at the end.
sphericalfox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I like it, but that's probably because every time it starts I start singing 'let's dance' by Chris Montez. 'Hey baby won't you take a chance...' If you change 'let's dance' and other significant lyrics and song is born for Neil Danns. I'm sure someone must have come up with something already, I never pay attention enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JDNHqw9mlk I do like Chris Montez.
ithuriel Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Is funny seeing how we are so poor at set pieces. Considering how many corners and free kicks we get i'd expect better than softly floated balls or balls whipped over and into the stands at pace. Once upon a time we we're very successful at converting set pieces, now when we take them you know you can quickly nip to the toilet and know you will miss nothing
DJMadness29 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Surely its not much different to the 'ooooooooh t*at, your shot ahhhhhhhhhhh' we get every goal kick?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Surely its not much different to the 'ooooooooh t*at, your shot ahhhhhhhhhhh' we get every goal kick? That can sound intimidating if a lot of people do it. The clapping thing sounds just gay
