Stay Positive Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Agree with most of what's been said. Mills was a colossus and is growing in confidence now. Bamba was solid. I thought Konchesky did well too, actually, aside from a misjudgment that cost him the ball and could have cost us a goal. I'm not convinced about Schlupp just yet, but then he's only young. Would rather have seen Danns come on. Schemichel did pretty well on the few occasions he was needed. I never felt uncomfortable when Cardiff was attacking. It's been a long time since I could say that about any opposition.
brockmyster Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Maybe that's why he wasn't very good.... Nothing played into his feet, as well as having lumps kicked out of him again. Another thing, the ref loved his whistle today. He didnt seem to like his yellow card, how on earth didnt Kiss or Gunnarsson get booked the amount of fouls that pair did, at least opposition player got booked for kicking ball away

Another thing, the ref loved his whistle today. In part you're right but Beckford didn't do himself any favours. He didn't make anything for himself and his movement was minimal. There was no point feeding him the ball most of the time.
accessory Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Becuase that's the worst attacking performance from a player in a city shirt for many years. Beckford was a disgrace today end off Behave - it wasn't even the worst attacking performance from a player in a City shirt of the day. Beckford would have snapped up both of the chances that Vassell wasted.
Bugg Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 FFS, why do people still think that Lloyd Dyer is the answer?
easilee Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Loving Bamba more and more. He don't take no sh*t. Hope he can calm down a little quicker in future cos I can see him talking his way into the book far too easily.
Foxinspain Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 JESUS people calm down - you would have thought we had lost 5-0 from the RIDICULOUS comments on the forum. We drew away against a good Cardiff team. Lighten up people
I am Rod Hull Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 A little bit of the rub of the green and it would have been 3 points... We were the better side and i think Cardiff fans would agree... Quite happy with the performance, away against them...

There was no point feeding him the ball most of the time. Aguero or Messi couldn't have done much with the service from our midfield today. By taking Beckford off, Sven settled for a 0-0 when Cardiff were almost dead on their feet. If we are to mount any promotion challenge we MUST be more ruthless in games like this.

Quite happy with the performance, away against them... A little bit of the rub of the green and I would have become a footballer. Shame cliches don't work like that ah?
Stay Positive Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Also I just want to say it's nice to be on here without people moaning about the ref for a change, who was excellent and barely put a foot wrong.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Would've taken a point before the game, but I have to say I'm disappointed we didn't take all three. How weak was the ref though? Not blaming him for us not winning, its just an observation.
Mack Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 This isn't good enough Eriksson. Sort it out or **** off back to Sweden and we'll get someone a lot better in. Congratulations for posting the biggest load of bollocks I have ever read on these forums.. no wait.. hold on,, Might be an exaggeration but the yo yo Foxes win we are going to win the league then Foxes draw Sven out blah blah bollocks is really getting on my nerves. It may not be pretty to watch but with one off the line in the first half and numerous close shaves late on we nearly got 3 points. Draws away and wins at home will do it for us.

But we created our best chances in the last few minutes.

Yeah gotta agree. Don't get me wrong i'm one of the 1st to have a go at referees, but it doesn't half wind me up when we don't win and I come on here and it's the referee's fault we drew/lost according to some people.

HoustonFox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Happy with a point but feel like we could have nicked it so as always with games like that, it makes you feel a little bitter in the mouth. Defence was solid, Konch was a little caught out with positioning sometimes but overall a good performance from the back five. Pelts - love him. Midfield, oh dear. Why........ are........ we so s......l......o.......w in possession. This is the NPC not international football. If we were slow and kept the ball I wouldn't mind but to be slow and lose possession so much is unacceptable. Danns and Johnson in although I thought at least King tried, he is just slow. Fernandes, Danns, Abe and Johnson next match though Forwards - why do we have two fast strikers that like balls behind the defence and never play to their strengths? I'd be frustrated as Beckford too. Slow build up in the middle is not helping. We got a clean sheet and a point though!

nuttytimmy Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 What am I reading? This was a great result! A clean sheet, against one of our main opponents in the promotion race, away from home? You'd have laughed in my face if I'd said we'd achieve that a fortnight ago. That said, it wasn't a standout performance and as a game it will be forgotten quickly. Mills was solid today and, particularly in the first half, Abe and Peltier did well. Lots to be done, but the result was a decent one.
brockmyster Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Also I just want to say it's nice to be on here without people moaning about the ref for a change, who was excellent and barely put a foot wrong. 16 fouls 1 yellow? He started well allowing play to continue but towards the end he was just getting irritating with the yellows like i said how didnt Kiss or Gunnarsson get booked both must have got majority of those cardiff fouls
Stay Positive Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I don't see how anyone can think the ref had a bad game today...
SMX11 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I thought it was a pretty good result but we really should have won that game especially after that good first half performance.

Nearly doesn't quite cut it in this league. Pearson nearly got us to the play off final. Holloway nearly kept us up. We wasted the chance today of making the top 6 for the first time since Sven took over. it may be a while before the next one arrives.
accessory Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I don't see how anyone can think the ref had a bad game today... Did you not see how often Beckford was being whacked off the ball? Or how Gerrard had his hands all over MIlls at setpieces? Or the blatant handball by Schlupp when he blocked Whittingham's free-kick? The ref was far too weak today. But that's par for the course whenever we visit Cardiff..
carterfox90 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 No-one should be complaining about today, there are negatives of course but the main thing is a solid defensive display, a clean sheet, a point away from home and the retention of our unbeaten away record. Mills was fantastic, best performance in a city shirt. Johnson looked classy from the little time that he was on and Vassell caused problems. Beckford was useless, Wellens was wasteful and frustrating and we were generally pretty weak in midfield. As I said though, you can't win them all and away point at Cardiff from a game where we didn't create that many good chances is nothing to put down. Onwards and upwards to 'Boro THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
