Tommy G Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 People think we should run away with it away at a team like cardiff have gone doo-lally
BrummieFOX Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Anyone know how many fans we officially took today?
buzzy Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Positives: - Mills was very good Negatives: - Performance was absolutely shit stop fooking moaning the performance wasnot that bad but a couple of the midfielders and beckford were bad
CKB Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I knew it would be close, all these people saying we would tonk them are deluded!! I was happy with the first half performance but the second half till Johnson came on was poor, very poor! Mills and Peltier were my star players today, Wellens, Fernandes were very poor.. I actually was fuming with Fernandes when i think it was the second half he just let a Cardiff player past him didn't bother tracking back with him and they had tons of space Wellens gave the ball away to much and did his usual "give it away, take man down trick" yes potentially it stops what could be a goal (break away) but Wellens should know better!! King was average, Abe was average, Beckford had no service.. Vassell worked hard, Konchesky was ok Sven was late in subs imo, i'd have took Wellens and Fernandes off and brought on Danns and Johnson, Danns would have gave us abit more life as Johnson did when he actually came on.. Abe could have been slotted into the DM role, i think it would have gave our midfield some more needed umph! which was seriously lacking today until Johnson came on!
Dan Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Radio Leicester, Andy King MOTM. Seriously? What did he even do? How he got it over Mills or Peltier is total myth.
CKB Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Radio Leicester, Andy King MOTM. Seriously? What did he even do? How he got it over Mills or Peltier is total myth. Well it doesn't surprise me when Alan Young was saying Cardiff had a blatent pen, when in reality Bamba put in a great challenge... RL is a bag of wank half the time, i rarely bother with it.. I'd rather was GSS or catch a stream
DanTheFox07 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 watched the game on tv today, Im delighted that Mills had a good game easily one of his best games this season if not his best? Konchesky looked strong willing to get forward and dangerous from set pieces, unlucky not to score. I was very disappointed with the performance of fernandez and difficult to say what he offered us going forward today, I expect to see him lose his place to Johnson now. Easy to slate Beckford on the back of his performance today, but did pretty much play up front by himself and looked like cardiff did a job with him, looked like he was man marked all game. Im confident with Nugent coming back either mid-week or for the derby game that will again make us that bit stronger upfront, should make a brilliant foil for beckford and start to forge a good partnership. We lack width and didn`t really stretch cardiff as much as we should have, not sure what we can do about that? perhaps vassell on the wing now nugent will come back in. Overall to some up I think yes 3 point`s were there for taking today but we were not clinical enough in front of goal and the fact club`s above us dropped point`s makes this look like a bad point when realistically I think most people would have taken a point before the game.
accessory Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 People think we should run away with it away at a team like cardiff have gone doo-lally Well Brighton managed it. Why didn't we? This is Cardiff we're talking about, not Camp Nou.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Not a bad performance, just seemed to lack width. Was no surprise to me that we were dominating and having our best chances in the last 10 minutes when we were getting the ball wide and putting in crosses.
adamkhalifa Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I really wanted us to get the 3 points today. Just to average the points for the home losses. Anyway, Just something on my mind. Why do most of our players never commit the opposition before giving a pass. At times today, they were passing just for the sake of it. I think we should really try to engage the opposition.

marbelladave Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 This is Leicester we're talking about not Real Madrid Interesting observation...... We have invested heavily in the manager, players, stadium and training ground upgrades. Spent a hell of a lot of money. Cardiff, on the other hand, have had to let go 3 / 4 of their best players and replace them with journeyman pros. By the standards of this division we are fooking Real Madrid..........
panky and our gang Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Both sides played mediocre football and it was god awful to watch . Our defense looks like it is more settled but you have to ask where are the goals coming from ? No creative flare from the midfield and pretty toothless up front . Under normal circumstances I would agree that a point away from home at Cardiff would be good enough , but this is not the same Cardiff of last year . They looked and played like a mid table outfit, the trouble is so did we . :dunno:

We've just started a new chapter, Madrid and/or Barcelona have issued book after book for a while now.
Callabinho Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Am I the only one who thought our performance was relatively good? Our passing was much better, granted we did give the ball away a few times, but it was much better! The first half was pretty pedestrian but even if Cardiff have signed 3 or 4 "journey" men, they can still hold their own in this division! what did every one seriously expect? A 6 -1 win with Danns and Vassell singing a duet of "My Humps" on the way home?
Happy Fox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/cardiffs-depleted-ranks-stand-firm-to-frustrate-eriksson-2360958.html? Eriksson saw signs here that his side are finally heading in the right direction. The Swede said: "It is normal for new players to take time to settle in. You can use the excuse of new players taking time to settle in the first three, four or five games but not any more. We can't keep saying that. We have to play for the whole game like we did in the last 15 minutes here."
Dr The Singh Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What a boring match! Overall, happy with a point. Considering the Cardiff attack were hampered with Injury, they still looked the more likely to score! CLean sheet is a positive.
filbertway Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 What a boring match! Overall, happy with a point. Considering the Cardiff attack were hampered with Injury, they still looked the more likely to score! CLean sheet is a positive. Really? I remember us hitting the bar, having one off the line, king missing two decent chances and vassel missing a good chance. I remember a few whittingham free kicks from them but that's it...
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 The game itself was nowhere near as bad as some are making out. 1st half we totally dominanted them. It's just a shame we couldn't crack in from there in the second half.

By the standards of this division we are fooking Real Madrid.......... Last year we had the Yak and Naughton.. Now we have another set of players trying to find their feet in Svens system. Cardiff has lost a lot of their attacking abilities but I assume their defence is top notch so why should we win easy away.....
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 To be fair, Real Madrid have been throwing money around in their league for years, if not decades. Poor comparison. We've just started a new chapter, Madrid and/or Barcelona have issued book after book for a while now. Very sensible post...even having money usually needs time to use it wisely - Man City are now beginning to come good for example
Burmesefox Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Wellens and King weren't up to scratch today. King was the invisible man again and Wellen.... Wellens... King seems to be the invisible man every time he plays since last January. Seriously, I just dont get him. I just dont really see what he brings to the team except the goals he has scored. As soon as teh going gets tough he goes missing. He is what I would term a "flat track bully". Wellens was also poooor. Other than that - second clean sheet and a good point.
marbelladave Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Last year we had the Yak and Naughton.. Now we have another set of players trying to find their feet in Svens system. Cardiff has lost a lot of their attacking abilities but I assume their defence is top notch so why should we win easy away..... It's all about resources. As I said above, we have spent a lot of money, brought in 6 players with recent premier league experience and 3 of the better players in last years championsip. These are good players who have not become poor players overnight but for some reason many of them are performing well below the standards they have achieved in recent years. Pantsil, Fernandez, Danns and (only on yesterdays performance) Beckford all look a bit lost, like they really have little idea of their role or are being asked to play in positions they have never played before. On sunday we had a premier league class holding midfielder playing on the left wing, a striker who likes the ball played to feet hopelessly contesting long balls against two physical defenders, our own Andy King being given the pivotal attacking midfield role despite his complete inability to create anything for his strikers once the defence is set and a supposed playmaker playing the holding role and doing nothing but give the ball back to the opposition........! Despite that we could easily have won that game simply because, on a handful of occasions a couple of our players showed a bit of class. If we had been properly set up, with players in their best positions and playing to some sort of plan we would have won, easily! As I said, it's about resources. We have the players to be a real force in this division if we can only get them playing something close to their best but at the moment we are nowhere close to doing that. It is nothing to do with needing time to gel, it is all about basic setup and organisation and to be blunt, we barely have any of either.

Couldnt have put it better myself HOWEVER ON A POSITIVE NOTE (I'm really gonna start pissing people off in the end with this...) Defensively we looked a class act. I feel finally that Faz may have sorted that aspect of the game out

I agree about the players not in familiar positions but I think it's a step-by-step development by Sven. A bit like Mancinis approach to the english soil. When we have the finisished product we're unstoppable but It can take some time and for now we'll only see glimpses of what will be.
