Corky Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Still waiting for the magic formula? Considering one was injured before the other signed it would've been difficult for them to play together.
Webbo Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Without reading any of this thread. We were slightly the better team, a draw is not a bad result.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Without reading any of this thread. We were slightly the better team, a draw is not a bad result. This Mills in particular looking solid and the back four and goalie earning a clean sheet are definate positives
smudger63 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Lets face it Cardiff are our bogey team we never come away with a good result! If we beat Middlesborough which will be harder than today and then beat derby then everyone will be happy just a shame we could of made 2points up on nearly all the other teams but thats the same old Leicester! Thats a big if though. We need to play alot better than today, for us to get anything at Boro, who are flying. Next week against the sheep wont be easy either!
Happy Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Cardiff were their for the taking today, yes I am pleased we got a point away from home at a difficult place, but also disappointed we didn't get all 3 points, we can beat Middlesborough and then take it from their
smudger63 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Beckford will score lots of goals but does prefer to be part of a two up front. If you remember trawling through the Everton pages when we were signing him a lot f them said that Moyes left him up there on his own and it docent get the best out of him. At Leeds he was paired up front Beckford + Nugent = Goals. They will need decent service though, something our midfielders didn`t supply today.
z-layrex Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Fair result for both sides I thought, shame we couldn't nick it at the end. Cardiff are a big strong club and you can't complain about coming away with a draw away from home against them.
Happy Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Did anyone else catch what Top was saying pre match on SKY, saying that if we do not get promotion this year, we will strengthen more, I think this gives a clear indication, that we are not putting all our eggs in one basket this year, we will get promoted eventually have a bit of patience.
Kent Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I think Johnson might be the missing link that will give us that creative spark in the middle that we seem to lack and hopefully craft some chances, once he's fit enough to play 90 minutes anyway. I don't think we're a million miles away like some people are saying.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 If I could have changed one thing, I'd have brought Danns on for Wellens to provide a bit of width when we needed it at the end. Other than that, a good point at a ground we usually get nothing from, Boro will be the same on Wednesday, so I'd be happy to keep the unbeaten run going before Derby. Vassell's header bounces off the bar and beyond the goal line, all the moaners would have stayed in the woodwork.
deanolegend1989 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I think we played average. We really didnt offer anything going forward until the 90th minute when Cardiff had 10 men literally. The back 4 played solid and that was encouraging, especially Peltier and Mills. King was better than some people think, Hes a must starter, any game we dont start him we look total bull. If we were going to change I think we should start playing a natural winger to get more width. Dyer for either Abe or Gelson as IMO this 4 man diamond doesnt work. Overall its a decent point but we should be winning games like this to make up for the horrible home losses to donkeys Bristol City/Reading. Boro Id take a draw so we need to win to make up 2 points.
leicesterisme Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Really? I thought both teams were defensively solid but woeful going forward. Yes, i thought it was a good solid peformance. It certainly was not absolutely shit as you stupidly put it.
Callabinho Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I'm happy with a point! Difficult place to go, draw against boro and a win against Derby, that's a decent run!!

Bert Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 It was nice to see we still had a muppet following, with one god awful chant. I was embarassed. Was very impressed though that we managed to observe the minutes silence to perfecton though.
Rusko187 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 In all honesty I thought today was a fair result! Yes we didn't win and could have done but a point away could be vital at a later point. Perhaps a testament to Leicester that we played alright as a whole but still came out with something, can't wait to see this squad firing on all cylinders!
Leicester_Loyal Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Another clean sheet. The back five are looking better by the week.
Mack Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Nearly doesn't quite cut it in this league. Pearson nearly got us to the play off final. Holloway nearly kept us up. We wasted the chance today of making the top 6 for the first time since Sven took over. it may be a while before the next one arrives. Away from home draws are just fine. As long as we are picking up wins at home. We were unlucky today, but a point will do.
funkyrobot Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 After seeing that performance I'd like to see Johnson in for King & Danns in for Wellens. I agree that Johnson should be in and maybe danns. Whilst wellens was poor, he did lots more than both fernandes and abe, both of whom were off the pace and had no influence on the game. Thought mills did well and both fullbacks but we desperately need quality width ahead of them.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I'm fairly happy with the result. I'd have taken it before the start - drawing away against our main promotion rivals is no shame - but given our first half dominance it's a shame. However, we stopped Cardiff from scoring for the first time this season (did Schmichael make a single save that wasn't either straight at him or so soft my mum could have saved it?) and the defence never look stretched. Where we fvell down was on movement off the ball - I saw very little (though it can be decptive on TV) - but that does come with understanding; knowing when and where your team-mates like to play the ball in or like to break away to. Without that we weren't able to get in behind them. As it stands, we're a point off the play-off and come mid-week we could be three off second place. Alarm bells? I think some fans have just got tinitus.# Yesterday I saw Man Utd apparently demolished by Stoke in the 2nd half of their game - using a lot of City fans' rating techniques, this means that Fergie is clearly a tactical buffoon with no concept of modern football.

I prefer the term "willy puller".
Dames Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Good result away from home against a team that are always hard to beat. The team are making steady but not spectacular progress to the top end of the table. Then again that seems to be some fans problems, we aren't going it spectacularly enough.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I prefer the term "willy puller". Given, but he's a very tactically astute willy puller.
