pSinatra Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 No way!!!!! My surname is FOX Once a FOX............always a FOX!!! I do know a couple of people who should seriously consider a name change..........Terry Bull & Chris Peacock (say them both fast)
Salieri Posted 18 October 2011 Posted 18 October 2011 I've never really considered it but if I did, it would of course have to be :
StanSP Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Some odd decisions here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15366156
Rincewind Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Hugh R Grate or Ot you. Or maybe go with ones already taken. Ford Prefect and Max Headroom.
AoWW Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I've had moments where I've quite fancied changing my first name to something dramatic-sounding. I've always liked the name Tallulah but I do think you have to be a certain sort of person to carry it off! I reckon Crashen Burn would be another good option.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 People tend to just call me by my surname. Like a brand. My mate changed his to this..... Heroic! Sounds like a right 'character,' your mate.

I've always liked the name Tallulah but I do think you have to be a certain sort of person to carry it off! I reckon Crashen Burn would be another good option. Bet you sing this while hoovering...
FoxesAreBlue Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I just get called any one of the many names that rhyme with Andy: Mandy, Sandy, Ghandi etc it's just whatever comes To mind first.
Haydos Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 People tend to just call me by my surname. Like a brand. Sounds like a right 'character,' your mate. Could say that, just a bit of a nut job. He's had to change it back now he's finished uni
ScouseFox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 I like my name. And I rarely call anyone their names anyway, people have nicknames/surnames and stuff.
Guest ttfn Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Cannonball Taffy O'Jones is clearly a must. Bottom?
NorthernFox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Changed my name back in 1989 after my Dad kicked me out. Moved cities so started life as new person. 20 years later made up with Dad, but haven't yet decided whether to return to original.... Especially hard after losing said father last year.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Would change my name to Younis maybe full name as Youn Younis......but effort required!
Father Ted Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Would never change my name. Born with it so I will live with it.
sphericalfox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Col City used to be called Phillippe Phlop, but changed it as he felt it was representative of his bipolarisms and Thracian didn't like it and he wanted to make him happy
Houdini Logic Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Interesting section on politicians who change their name to appeal to the masses last night on This Week. Didn't realise Boris Johnson was actually called 'Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson' or George Osbourne, who legally change his name from 'Gideon Oliver Osbourne'
Webbo Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 Interesting section on politicians who change their name to appeal to the masses last night on This Week. Didn't realise Boris Johnson was actually called 'Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson' or George Osbourne, who legally change his name from 'Gideon Oliver Osbourne' I'm not sure changing your name from Alexander to Boris is actually is actually designed to increase your appeal.
StanSP Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 I'm surprised Mark Reckless, who got arrested for drink driving if I remember correctly, didn't or hasn't changed his name!
Rincewind Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 would Boris be so bad if it wasn't associated with Boris Johnson. Although It would not be my first choice If I changed mine. My first name can be used in three ways. One is my given name which I use on official forms and what my mum used to call me when telling me off. One is what I prefer to be called and the third I do not like. I will not say what it is because the last time I did there was a deluge of posters saying it. I have the name on my mobile as a ringtone and somebody bought me a beermug which plays a well known phase from a TV show. Maybe Gizza Job would be good.
Jordan Posted 21 October 2011 Posted 21 October 2011 My mate changed his to this..... Heroic! I hope that the first name is a tribute to Bruno N'Gotty or Dany N'Guessan, because that would make the name change that much more amazing.
