ozleicester Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 That's a bit harsh??? Who cares how well known he is... Surely it's his ability to manage a football club that counts? The way he gets his teams playing for him, motivated and hard to beat! I think some people have no real understanding of how football works... You dont best teams just because you have big name players, big name managers or how well known your club is... Look at genk v Chelsea... Should no way have been 1-1 on paper, just like we were favourites for promotion at the start of the season! It doesn't work like that Did you read what i wrote (i even put it in CAPS to make it clear) I did not make a judgement call about Clark's managerial skills as i know NOTHING about him, my comment was about the relative fame and that was only mentioned because we have been led to believe that the owners wanted " a name"
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Couldn't agree more, and OGS would be right at the top of that pile. Have you got a bet on him or summat?
Simmo86 Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 JamesNursey James Nursey Lee Clark definitely got #LCFC job. #Huddersfield players turned up for training today to be told he's off to #Leicester 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Itkagent1962 ... More noises about Lee Clark joining #LCFC today. Cracking choice if it goes through. Leicester very keen to wrap it up. Straight forward now Itkagent1962 ... Lee Clark may even be appointed as quickly as today. Huddersfield have accepted this. Finalising compensation the only thing left. #LCFC
Thracian Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Up and coming managers with something to prove just like Taylor, Holloway, Levein, Allen, Sousa. People talk as though it's almost a fool proof formula going for younger managers. Thrac, you have never even seen his team play so I find it amazing you can champion someone so much. I saw the teams of Taylor, Holloway, Levein, Allen and Soussa play. I've also watched most of them play as individuals. And from that, plus all I've read which is a lot, I cannot see any connection with those five and what OGS is likely to do. Since when has OGS struck you as likely to field eight defenders in a match or to set up with the dourness of Levein? Don't you ever have enough of such shit? And let's look back on Martin Allen's public training session - hell, it was embarrassing. And what a mastermind of PR with his banning players from parking at the club and his polite conversation with a doorman at Cheltenham. Yes, link 'em with OGS, I should. Anyway none of it seems to matter now.
Happy Fox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 http://downatthemac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=61783&page=38 As I said previously someone I know mentioned some names that leicester were interested in, I've asked him again... He said he had been mentioned but not the immediate impact they need, he's not got the respect within the higher game yet. He needs to learn his trade and be able to.walk into a dressing room and instantly command respect. At the moment he not quite there. They need someone the players will run through walls for from game one. N He didnt know who was favourite, they are keeping it close to their chests. Apparently none of the stuff in the 'papers' has come from sources at leicester, it all just speculation because people believe it, if a paper backs a manager then the readers put money on them... so the odds shorten and they look like they knew something... they can't lose. They just pick the names of the most promising managers in the leagues. And guess what ours is looking tip of the pile so will get mentioned a lot more. Can't believe people are believing the mirror and mail though. If I see it in the times or guardian I will consider it, but not till I see club statements will I fully believe anything. Stop being so nervous and gullible, he's staying! FACT!
Guest MattP Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 All over twitter from various sources it's Clark.
Thracian Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Have you got a bet on him or summat? If I had I'd have lost my money. !
kingston_fox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Yup, looks like it... http://twitter.com/#!/philmcnulty
Babylon Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 So why has Clark not denied he is in talks . Has someone asked him? How many times does he have to state there is nothing in it, once a fortnight, once a week, once a day, on the hour every hour. Maybe there is something in it, maybe there isn't. But just because he's not commenting on every piece of speculation doesn't mean it has to be true. The club are actively out there denying it on radio and twitter for him. Have you heard any one of the managers we've seriously been linked with say much about it?
He's not bald Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Somethings about to happen me thinks within the next hour!!!

I'm curious why his employer should be still denying any approach from City at this late hour - he is surely still speaking to the manager of the club he owns
Zingari Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 We should try and get Hughes ,Clarke and Keane Sparky, Clarkey and Narky
Guest MattP Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 It's done. Clark has been to the training ground to tell his players.

Anyway none of it seems to matter now. What are you banging on about. Please tell me where I compared him to any of them? Two completely different points Thracian. 1.) A young and up coming manager doth not always a good manager make. In response to several people in this thread banging on about how we should go back to giving young managers a go. We have, and many of them have been equally as shit as the experienced ones. 2). You are championing someone whose team you have never seen play. You probably have no idea what formation they play, whether he is ultra positive with attacking full backs etc, not a single jot. Some of the stuff you came out with yesterday or the day before was so contradictory compared to the yard stick you measured other managers by it was unbelievable.
cc_star Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 It's Lee Clark according to Daily Mirror sports writer on Twitter @JamesNursey Huddersfield players have been told this morning

Babylon Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 calm down. I'm curious why his employer should be still denying any approach from City at this late hour - he is surely still speaking to the manager of the club he owns Because either a) there is no truth in it, so why would he not deny it. b) Clark has not told them and will chuck is notice in. c) They would be generously compensated for keeping their gobs shut until it's done and dusted. d) the commercial director hasn't got a clue what's going on.
