FallenAngel Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I really don't feel any excitement about Clark coming, Hughes however I would be more than happy with. I just don't see Clark being a long term appointment
Tuna Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Stringer gets all his news from foxestalk though doesn't he!
Kitchandro Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Fookin ridiculous, what is everyone's obsession with experience at this level? Where did Fergie, Wenger & co manage before their big appointments, tin pot leagues of Scotland & at the time Japan, closer to home where did Little & O'Neill manage before joining us, Little was managing Donny before turning is from relegation candidates into regular promotion contenders before getting us up & O'Neill had managed Shepshed & Wycombe. Sven had shit loads of experience which saw us taken a playoff squad (via a shit mgr for 9 games) to midtable mediocrity which despite spending up to £20m on transfers, fees & bumper contracts has been repeated again this season. Clark isn't my preferred choice as I'd prefer Hughes or for an up & coming manager OGS, but it appears Clark can certainly manage. All those other managers were successful at smaller clubs before getting big jobs.
Finnegan Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 A Hudders fan on Clark from sortitoutsi: The football we play switches from direct and pragmatic where needed to being free-flowing and attacking. Our better attacking displays come against the better sides, against whom we just seem to step up a level, as opposed to grinding out wins against the likes of Stevenage.Clark learns from his mistakes. Last year he twigged that he couldn't go to places like Brighton with two strikers, so we switched to one up top; this season he's been brave and used the 4-4-2 system even against the Sheffield Uniteds of the division (it threw them right off at their patch - we hammered them 3-0). It also goes without saying, given our record at the moment, but we are incredibly difficult to beat; even on off-days we're solid enough to adapt and get something out of it. The worst I've seen us play this season was up at Hartlepool, and there was no risk of us losing it unless they came up with something otherworldly, simply because our back 4 did its job superbly.
Filberts Treat Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Don't post on here very often at all. Just been told Clark and keegan will be in charge come Sunday. And to hopefully expect the announcement tomorrow. Heard about Sousa and Sven from the same source before it happened so hopefully won't end up with egg on my face. And remember, don't shoot the messenger!!!
Leicesterpool Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Just too many rumours recently, can't believe anything at the moment.
cc_star Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 There's already a Lee Clark thread & a Clark/Keegan thread Merge pls mods /thread
foxoffderby Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I would be happy with this. No to Keane and the rest
Filberts Treat Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Know what u mean about the rumours coz I have to read them too. Hopefully it'll be true and I can do Bert out of his job...
Filberts Treat Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 No need to merge coz that was rumour and this is truth!! (haha)
Guest shearfox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I think this could be good, Clark is proving to be a very good up and coming manager and Keegan has the contacts and experience. Clark could learn a lot off working with someone like Keegan.
Leicesterpool Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 well he's certainly a better choice than Keane, but I still don't think Clark is right for the job.
Head Honcho Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 I think this could be good, Clark is proving to be a very good up and coming manager and Keegan has the contacts and experience. Clark could learn a lot off working with someone like Keegan. Don't you think we be hiring somebody with the skills already?
l444ry Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Can't imagine Keegan playing second fiddle to anyone, let alone Lee Clark.
davieG Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 There's already a Lee Clark thread & a Clark/Keegan thread Merge pls mods /thread There's a Clark thread and a Clark with DOF suggestion, yes they do mention Keegan but nothing specific so I'd say in the scheme of things it probably, just about worthy of it's own topic. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=77539&st=0&p=2041197&hl=clark&fromsearch=1entry2041197 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=77367&st=0&p=2034467&hl=clark&fromsearch=1entry2034467

lcfc_amie Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Really hope this is true. I'm getting fed up of all the speculation now.
davieG Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Don't you think we be hiring somebody with the skills already? Clark the Manager/Coach Keegan the international face for business purposes
Guest shearfox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Clark the Manager/Coach Keegan the international face for business purposes Yep, that is the thinking if this happens.
NorthernFox Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Clark the Manager/Coach Keegan the international face for business purposes That will do nicely
purpleronnie Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Can't imagine Keegan playing second fiddle to anyone, let alone Lee Clark. Me neither. He's never seemed that interested in returning to football anyway...but you never know.
BIEREDeLuxe Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 so do the bookies pay out on both.. That would be great - I've got KK at 20/1 and Clark at 7/1.
sdb Posted 2 November 2011 Posted 2 November 2011 Anything that isn't Keane sounds good to me at the mo.
