Pearson is (maybe) signing

I am disgusted that we are even contemplating taking a backwards step to employ a previous manager who is talented, hungry oh and just happens to be one of the most successful managers the club has ever had.

I think most would agree that the most unity the club has felt as a whole in recent history (post-MON) in under Pearson. During those two seasons I felt the most pride of being a Leicester fan. No circus, no big time Charlie's, no worrying about a global brand; it was just about the football.

I go to a lot of Southampton games (due to getting a free ticket, location and the fact that I just love football and want to watch it week in week out without breaking the bank) and currently the feeling around St. Mary's is infectiously positive.

I see Nigel Atkins and Nigel Pearson as very similar for more than just sharing a first name. They are hard workers, low profile, intelligent football managers who get the best out of the team.

I personally believe under the stewardship of Pearson the club can regain some identity and push onwards.

Come home Pearson.

Brilliant post!

Heaven forbid you see things different to others..

I'm pretty sure you post this crap just to get a reaction

I'm not hugely optimistic but I don't know how anyone can criticise the job he did here. He arguably did the best job of any manager ever apart from MON.

Micky Adams was better. He actually SAVED the club in 02-03.

The best Pearson can manage this season is the playoffs, and we should all remember how he bottled them last time..

Back to the bloody Dark Ages again. For heaven's sake. NO!

So the time of us getting promotion, and getting into the play offs the following year where the dark ages?

I'd love to hear your opinion on the time since he's left, if your calling them the dark ages, the past two seasons must be on par with the apocalypse.

Don't mind being slated for having my own thoughts so here goes. If NP returns I will be disappointed and relieved at the same time if that's possible?! I have no problem with Nigel, he did a superb job here and turned a sinking ship around. I just think we had a massive chance to change the entire way the football club functions. I wanted to see long term plans for the academy and scouting department lead by a manager who was here to set out a vision for the next 10 years not just the next 7 months.

None of the above however is NP's fault it just seems the owners are so desperate for the Prem that a Jim'll fix it type appointment was the only way the club was ever going to go. Good luck to Nigel and who knows what he can do with some decent financial backing. Obviously the relieved part is not hiring the likes of Keane. Dowie and Freedman which could all of been horror shows.

I know how you are feeling, it could have been so much better, but also so much worse. The fact is there are better managers out there and for whatever reason we couldn't attract them, MON, Hughes, Di Matteo obvioulsy weren't interested without having seen all the candidates that did apply, and been part of the interview process, I can only assume NP was the best that applied/made themselves available, that is why he got the job.

We don't know what NPs vision of the future will be you have to remember we had no money when he took over, now we do, the owners have invested heavily in upgrading the facilities and increasing our profile from a business point of view, and if NP is not the kind of man that wants to get involved in creating a successful academy and scouting links and overseas profile, then they will employ someone to do that and let NP focus on what he is best at; getting the best out of the players at his disposal.

We lost on pens to an in form Cardiff side who were favourites for the match - and only because of you-know-who's stupid, stupid penalty. Don't think Nigel can be blamed for that one - doubt anyone else would've predicted that happening.

According to my mate it's just been on the radio that "Hull spokesman has said Nigel wishes to leave and will be Leicester's next manager"

And this legend Pearson is a manager who knews how we get up in premier?

And then when wee is there goodbye Pearson you are not soooo good or? :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Your not being serious are you? I've hardly commented on any of your posts but I do read them, some of the things you come out with is complete shite!

forget the first leg where np bottled it , forget waghorn missing his...

Nobody thinks he's perfect, but quite frankly his faults seem a lot more appealing than the shit of the past 18 months.

How did he "bottle" it? Playoffs are always a lottery.

How did he bottle it?

Compare our team to the Cardiff team that beat us, on penalties, very fortuitously, may be we could have been more adventurous in the the first leg, maybe if we had been we would have lost 2 or 3 nil, we even won if you took away goals in to account.

I can't believe you are calling him a bottler, we overacheived all season on what was a very average squad full of team spirit, that was down to Nigel.

To be honest if we get in to the play offs this season it will be considered a success regardless of our manager.

Twelve managers make the football league play offs every year. Nine of those twelve all "bottle" it...

Pearson is gonna be our Pulis. Come on Nigel, take us to the prem!
