I'm not being funny but since Thursday I've said it'll be Tuesday. The Pearson side of it is 100% done, it's just about back room staff now.

Not being funny but you said the Thursday before Leeds before

That wasn't a dig at you mate, different days keep get banded around, might make me sad but i will then regularly check for the announcement all day and get disappointed. When ever it will be it will be.

Looks like we will have to wait just a bit more longer I guess

BBC Radio Leicester: deal to bring back Nigel Pearson to #LCFC "should be completed in the next 24 hours".

After all we didn't really fail. Yes we were negative first leg but ut was Weale's inability to set a wall up which led to us losing that day. And if we'd had Howard we'd have been better. We then went away, played our socks iff and should if won but for an offside penalty which brought it level. Then it was the luck of the draw when it comes to penalties. Dont see that as a failure, more a great attempt when we overachieved that didn't quite happen.

Talk about putting a positive twist on things.

Did we get to the final?

If the answer is no then we failed.

We failed due to NFP screwing up in the first leg

I'm one of Nigel's biggest fans but we fooked up big time in that first leg in my opinion. We nearly dug ourselves out of it at their place but it was always going to be an uphill task to beat them by more than one goal away. I hope he has learnt from that mistake when faced with massive games like the play-offs because we've lacked a manager who can drive his team on under severe intense pressure.

But getting into the play offs on the first place was the achievement.

And if it wasn't for a dodgy offside decision we may be in the top flight now!

My view is that the biggest reason for our poor first leg was not so much Pearson as Howard getting unnecessarily sent off and being suspended for that game.

The Cardiff defence really struggled to handle Steve that season as the second leg went on to prove.

I think that getting in the play offs with that team was a pretty decent effort.

Yes Nige went defensive first leg but the fella that really fooked up was Big Steve by getting himself sent off a couple of weeks before, with his ridiculous ninja tackle.

This limited Pearsons options for the first leg.

I remember when seeing Steves reckless tackle and thinking at the time what the fook have you done there big fella?

So your biggest reason for not wanting him is he messed up in this one game?

Completely ignoring what he actually achieved to get us there to that position in the first place. On the day we got relegated at Stoke, would any of us of thought that we'd win League one easily and then be a penalty kick from going to Wembley the season after?

I love the way everyone assumes that we would have beaten Blackpool.

We failed to make the play-offs.

Don't try and twist things.

Hopefully he will be more positive as a manager and will have the sense to sign an attacking coach as they obviously have the same problem at Hull that we had, they can't score enough goals.

NFP neededd as much time as possible with the players, I'd sooner we hadn't signed him but as we are I want it to take place asap.

We probably would.. we beat them home and away in the league.

We scored enough considering how tight our defence was. However, you're right about the lack of goals Hull have scored that has hampered them but they are still better placed than us this season.

Also have you misworded that abbout failing to make the play-offs? You mean the final, right?

And we did beat them home and away and they wouldn't have been able to field DJ. It's easy to argue that we may well have beaten them given those facts.

I think anyone would fancy themselves against a team they had already beaten twice, who would also have had one of their key players ineligible to play and are managed by a muppet.

Football is known for working that way is it?

No, but it's a way of trying to predict an outcome using past results, statistics etc, psychological edge etc. Plus DJ was a beast for them those last few games towards the end of the season and in the play-off's.

Plenty of reasons dor not wanting him, as well as there being reasons for wanting him.

I'm just very underwhelmed by it all.

Typically this board has started to fracture already between the pros and cons, or the bummers and haters as it was applied to Sven and will be about NFP.

People don't need to fall out and get personal with each other (Babylon this comment was not about you).

Generally the team that wins the final is the team that makes the late surge isn't it?

Wasn't that Blackpool?

This all irrelevant, we didn't even get to the final so please lets not assume that we would have won it.

We won our last 6 matches going in to the play-offs.

5, but yes I agree with you.

We were the form team, not Blackpool.

And I think we would have won the final, certainly wouldnt have let in 3 like Cardiff did in the final.
