teblin Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 I love the way everyone assumes that we would have beaten Blackpool. We failed to make the play-offs. Don't try and twist things. Hopefully he will be more positive as a manager and will have the sense to sign an attacking coach as they obviously have the same problem at Hull that we had, they can't score enough goals. NFP neededd as much time as possible with the players, I'd sooner we hadn't signed him but as we are I want it to take place asap. I like how you say that and in the rest of your statement twist what i said! I said may be in the premier league now.
ozleicester Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Just out of interest, there were a number of posters who had a go at SGE because of the number of jobs he had in recent times, i assume we wont be accusing NP of being "mercenary" when he returns to us having had 8 jobs in 5 years and having resigned from at least 3 of them? 2006 West Bromwich Albion (caretaker) 2007 England U21 (caretaker) 2007 Newcastle United (caretaker) 2008 Newcastle United (caretaker) 2008 Southampton 2008–2010 Leicester City 2010– Hull City 2011 Leicester City

bluearmyfox23 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Being a caretaker is basically doing the club a favour until they get someone to replace them as manager
bluearmyfox23 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 AlsO does anyone know wheather he will be bringing in any other coaches ie: goalkeeper coach, first team coach or possibly a reserve team manager ?
Ric Flair Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 AlsO does anyone know wheather he will be bringing in any other coaches ie: goalkeeper coach, first team coach or possibly a reserve team manager ? Shakey and Walsh will come in. Stowell will stay as goalkeeper coach no doubt and the youth coaches will stay. Wouldn't be surprised to see Berner be confirmed as a coach now as well.
Corky Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Yep, Berner installed in a Powell-style player/coach/God role at the club.
Babylon Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 AlsO does anyone know wheather he will be bringing in any other coaches ie: goalkeeper coach, first team coach or possibly a reserve team manager ? Steve Walsh, Craig Shakespeare, Sports Therapy guys.... We already have a keeping coach.
Libertine Dream Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Mills actually sort of wafted his foot at it rather than putting his foot through it or finding a team mate. It was a pathetic piece of defending. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Bamba is a much more "solid" defender than Mills. I din't see what Mills did wrong there, he was running backwards and the ball was behind him. He managed to get a foot to it instinctively but could never properly clear it, fantastic lay off though I however do not understand the constant critism of Bamba. The reason he grts away with it is because he is too good for alot of the forward players in this league and personally find him a joy to watch as I rarely think he has a bad game. Now Mills is use to him the partnership will flourish and although Mills has been decent on the ball since Reading game he is the 'get the job done' cb and Bamba the footballing one. All the best partnerships seem to have one of each, Ferdinand and Vidic an example, as is Puyol and Pique to a degree.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Ok thanks for the update also i was wondering what would you make of berner as a coach personally im not sure he has great man-managment skills but is he vocal enough ?

Pearson is about as loyal as a dog with Rabies.

Sven was manager of teams in question (Mexico, Ivory Coast, Leicester etc), where as Nigel Pearson was sometimes filling in for somebody else. He was caretaker at 4/8 listed. He kept Southampton up, and was sacked, which was unfair, even ask the Southampton fans. Obviously left Leicester because he fell out with somebody, moved to Hull (which shouldn't have happened!) and is now coming back. I don't think it is bad, and not as bad as Sven's which you mention.
dannythefox Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 There's not much loyalty in football anymore
accessory Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 We scored enough considering how tight our defence was. However, you're right about the lack of goals Hull have scored that has hampered them but they are still better placed than us this season. Also have you misworded that abbout failing to make the play-offs? You mean the final, right? And we did beat them home and away and they wouldn't have been able to field DJ. It's easy to argue that we may well have beaten them given those facts. The question has to be asked: how come a fcukwit like Holloway was able (albeit at the 2nd attempt) to get the best out of DJ, and Pearson wasn't?

He doesn't exactly bring stability to a defence, as we found last season and have been reminded again in recent weeks. If Tunchev can stay fit on a regular basis, he'll displace Bamba, especially as Bamba will be off to the African Cup of Nations in a couple of months.
accessory Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Because DJ didn't want to be at Leicester! So what was so enticing about Blackpool? The sea air, perhaps? Bear in mind we paid a fair whack of his wages while he was on loan there.
JmorsonLCFC Posted 14 November 2011 Posted 14 November 2011 Oh, and Waghorn didnt miss???? was that pearson? no. which was my point.

Hows that mean he walked out? Us 2 words Lee Hoo's Had Top n co moved in earlier he may well have stayed. Hull did he really want to go? The fact he's jumped ship for us say's no to me. So he's walked out once. Us again only time can tell. But i would say he is more liable for the sack than walk out. IMO

Anyway didn't Bamba say he was packing up playing internationals because of stuff going on with his family?

He must know its around that time I guess Or the owner of Hull will come out and cancel the deal as he can't get the manager he wants. Well, you never know with Leicester. Any time is good. Welcome home Nigel and the Pearson crew. Keeping it real!
