Rory Mcllroy - nailed on for me. Alistair Cook would be a good shout though, has had a terrific year.

Oh and anyone who thinks it's actualy about personality has never watched the event - it's about achievements and nothing else.

Why is Andy Murray in that list?

What has he achieved this year?

runner up in the 2011 Australian Open, semi final in the other 3 majors

Overtook federer to reach number 3 in the world

won 5 tournaments

won the singles and doubles titles at the japan open - first person to do this in 2011

Henman came 2nd in 1997 after achieving a lot less.

Andy Murray? Who's the troll in the deciders for this list lol?!

Totally negates the idea of Sports personality of the Year, let alone him not achieving anything.

I struggle to understand why he is up for a personality competition.

Andy Murray and personality just don't fit in the same sentence.

Unless the sentence contains the words 'is', 'devoid' and 'of'.

As I've said already in this thread why do people still think it's about personality?! Nigel Mansell won it in the 90's FFS.
