Finnegan Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 What an uninspiring list. I'd fancy a cheeky punt on McIlroy with Farah to make the final 3.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 I recon McIlroy will win it but i`v gone for Cookie...
The Doctor Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 McIlroy will almost certainly win, but I'm punting for Andy Murray.
ScouseFox Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 McIlroy will win that. Not a single footballer on it...
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 McIlroy will win that. Not a single footballer on it... It`s Sports Personality of the Year....
accessory Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 What an uninspiring list. I'd fancy a cheeky punt on McIlroy with Farah to make the final 3. Not Dai Greene?
leicesterisme Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Why is Andy Murray in that list? What has he achieved this year?
Finnegan Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Not Dai Greene? He'd get my vote and I'm sure he'll be right up there with our own awards but I'd be amazed if he trumps those two in the national SPotY.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Rory Mcllroy - nailed on for me. Alistair Cook would be a good shout though, has had a terrific year. Oh and anyone who thinks it's actualy about personality has never watched the event - it's about achievements and nothing else.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Mark Cavendish at evens - I expected RM to be short odds but he's at 7's with Farah at 2-1.
I am Rod Hull Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Mark Cavendish at evens - I expected RM to be short odds but he's at 7's with Farah at 2-1. 7-1 Good odds. Too good..
The Doctor Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Why is Andy Murray in that list? What has he achieved this year? Become duller and more obvious than Alan Shearer's punditry?
purpleronnie Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Why is Andy Murray in that list? What has he achieved this year? runner up in the 2011 Australian Open, semi final in the other 3 majors Overtook federer to reach number 3 in the world won 5 tournaments won the singles and doubles titles at the japan open - first person to do this in 2011 Henman came 2nd in 1997 after achieving a lot less.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 7-1 Good odds. Too good.. Got to be worth a fiver methinks
Corky Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 As a big cricket and Alastair Cook fan I'll go for him.
purpleronnie Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Tough list, if I had to choose it would be Rory McIlroy.
StanSP Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Andy Murray? Who's the troll in the deciders for this list ?! Totally negates the idea of Sports personality of the Year, let alone him not achieving anything.
Matt Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 Why is Andy Murray in that list? What has he achieved this year? I struggle to understand why he is up for a personality competition. Andy Murray and personality just don't fit in the same sentence.
Tielemans63 Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 I struggle to understand why he is up for a personality competition. Andy Murray and personality just don't fit in the same sentence. Unless the sentence contains the words 'is', 'devoid' and 'of'. As I've said already in this thread why do people still think it's about personality?! Nigel Mansell won it in the 90's FFS.
Corky Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 If it was about Personality, Mario Balotelli and Jimmy Bullard would be contenders. It's about achievement.

Jimothy Posted 28 November 2011 Posted 28 November 2011 And hamilton won it. Pretty much prooves no personality is required. Hamilton never won it, came second two years in a row.
