Guest MattP Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Great, he can be shit again for England for a game now instead of being sat at home.
Charl91 Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I don't want him near the England squad. Don't care how "World Class" he is, he tends to play badly for England, and he's on a very poor run of form for United. Missed a chance that my Gran could have put away last night.
StanSP Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Ridiculous. I'd have banned him for 4 games. Agreed.
Fox92 Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Great, he can be shit again for England for a game now instead of being sat at home. I personally think he is overrated, but I know there are some people that say he is as good as Messi and Ronaldo.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Most overated English player for a few years now.
Guest MattP Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I personally think he is overrated, but I know there are some people that say he is as good as Messi and Ronaldo. Surely no one still says that?
purpleronnie Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I personally think he is overrated, but I know there are some people that say he is as good as Messi and Ronaldo. who says that? Insane.
MattyFromLE Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I personally feel he shouldn't have had his ban shortened. What impression is that giving the rest of the footballing world? He ****ing kicked another player for no other reason than the fact he couldn't win the ball back! If it was anybody else the English FA would have done sod all. Cock.
Corky Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 He's viewed as England's most important player so of course they were going to appeal.

Cock. it was petulant not dangerous. should have been 1 match at most imo.
davieG Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 it was petulant not dangerous. should have been 1 match at most imo. On the other hand dangerous is not always intentional which this was.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 That's a joke. It was a disgusting challenge. Should've been banned for longer if anything.
Bert Posted 8 December 2011 Author Posted 8 December 2011 When Arshavin did exactly the same thing pre Euro 2008 he was only hit with a 2 game ban. So why should Rooney get a 3 game ban? Saying this, I don't believe decisions should be made to appeal against else what's the point of handing out the original punishment? Personally it's good for England. Adds a bit more fear factor into other teams, gives our players a boost too. People may hate him, and/or not rate him but he's the best striker we have and along with Ashley Cole the only player that could even be considered world class (pending Gerrards availability)
Basingstoke Fox Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I personally don't hate him. And he can undoubtedly be class on his day. But that "challenge" really was a joke.
I am Rod Hull Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Does this mean Heskey wont be going now ? ffffs
Ric Flair Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 I'm just sick of Wayne Rooney, he carries so much hype yet has barely ever achieved anything on the world stage. We've had players in the past carry the whole nation on their shoulders, that weren't as good as we thought they were but with Rooney it needs to stop. At 17 he had the world at his feet, and as per usual the whole of football predicted him to be the best player in the world. For 2 years he was fearless for club and country and he was worth the superlatives written about him, since then he has done absolutely nothing for his country when it matters. Not a single goal in a tournament since 2004. 2 red cards and plenty of atrocious attitude, Paul Gascoigne and Michael Owen are said by many to have never fulfilled their true potential for England, yet both were our star men in more than one tournament and could be relied upon to stand up for us when it mattered. Wayne Rooney is an embarrassment every time he plays for England when we truly need him. I feel a bit of a twat for saying this as I too got caught up in the Rooney hyperbole years ago and have gone on record to say he's a phenomenon, but i'll hold my hands up. I was wrong, he's actually a shithouse. He's been found out, he's no better than many Premier League journeymen who can score in a good team at domestic and european level but when it get's tough, they go missing. I'd leave him at home, i'd make a scapegoat out of him and hopefully it'll serve as a springboard for others not to follow in his footsteps. It might also make him lose this disgusting attitude he's got and if he knuckles down, then who know's, perhaps he could warrant a place in our squad again. But if that were the case, and he was dropped, he wouldn't do a Beckham or an Owen and knuckle down and try to win his place back with hard graft and professionalism. he's spout his mouth off and lose his temper, and managers like Ferguson and others who sniff his ringpiece would use their power to ridicule the decision. I hope our next England manager has some bollocks, sadly the one man whose lined up for the role is Redknapp whose a window Rooney-licker, so this farce will continue. O'Neill wouldn't tolerate what he's served up for England in the last 5-6 years, he'd tear the coont a new arsehole and send him back to school and banish him from the training pitches. Please for the love of god can we go to Ukraine and play France and Sweden off the park with a dynamic team that's full of passion, heart, skill and intelligence and that cretin get's left on the bench for the whole tournament. And finally, strip him of the nickname Wazza. He's not fit to carry Gazza's hamper and fishing rod that he took with him to see Raoul Moat.
z-layrex Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Haha Rooney has to be the most hated England player of all time?

Guest BlueBrett Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Problem is all our strikers are severely limited in their own way. Sturridge is the only one who could ever claim to be anything like a 'complete player'. Rooney hasn't performed yet, but there's always a chance that he will deliver a match winning performance when we need it most. Very few of our other attacking players could ever be capable of that - certainly not the likes of Andy Carroll or Darren Bent. For me, we should take Rooney, Gabby, Sturridge and Welbeck
purpleronnie Posted 8 December 2011 Posted 8 December 2011 Just shows how poor the england squad is, we seem desperate to take a striker out of form and with a 2 match ban.
