Happy Fox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 http://www.soccerway.com/news/2011/December/14/petrovic-takes-control-at-urawa/ According to Sponichi, the club may soon make offers to three current Samurai Blue members: former Reds and current Leicester City defender Yuki Abe, Cologne centre-back Tomoaki Makino, and Sanfrecce striker Tadanari Lee.

sphericalfox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Hmm Well he's not going to get played anywhere else at the minute sadly
The Doctor Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Disappointing if true, we may have a few too many CM's at the moment but Johnson and Fernandes won't be here much longer I would think. Decent player and there are definitely others in that position we should be getting rid of first.
funkyrobot Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Sadly he has proved to be a very average midfielder. He might be an international but he has not shone in the championship. Signing purely for a bit of Asia PR. We could've raided a whole heap of English championship and league 1 clubs to get a similar standard of player.
Corky Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 We see him as this utility player, when he has been successful as a defensive midfielder. I'd like to see him get more of a look-in.
dannythefox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Shame if true after he made a massive decision to move here in the first place. I think he's done well for us but probably wont feature in Pearson's plans.
Libertine Dream Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 He'd be decent as a holding midfielder to break up play and supply a playmaker to create us some chances, two things Wellens can't do and King doesn't do often enough
Fox92 Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 I think he is a good defensive midfielder to have at the club/around the club, but it depends on how much they are willing to pay. I mean, I cannot see Yuki getting in the first team for League games and he is about 30 isn't he? So he isn't getting any younger either (not that age matters of course!)
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 I don't like Yuki as a player, but as a person he seems a nice guy. I don't think he's good enough either for our 1st team, and Pearson obviously hasn't seen much in him. Bye Bye Yuki
I am Rod Hull Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Good riddance, he ate my fvckin dog....
sphericalfox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 I've asked my man in the know in Japan. Just waiting for him to get up and come back to me. I'll share his thoughts when I have it.
dog_4 Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 good news! he's shit! so is danns, wellens, king and johnson! only good central midfielder is fernandes!
LCFC BEAST Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 He was a good defensive midfielder but with Pearson's system he wouldn't fit in except as a utility player after injuries. Loved it when he has played, love him in general but if he does go good luck to him
Father Ted Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 Imo our best DM we have who can also play right mid or right back. Deserves more of a look in.
stourbridgefox Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 I suppose playing for his country and in the Asian Champion's League is more attractive than being a squad player for a second division side half the world away from his home. He's fulfilled his ambition of playing in Europe and we have got to see a unique player pull on a Leicester shirt. So worthwhile for both parties but probably not worth extending it for much longer.
Guest Col city fan Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 If he wants to go then good luck to the bloke. IMO he's been no worse than any of our other midfielders. I genuinely don't think he's big or fast enough though to be a defensive midfielder which appears to be the position he's been played in... Brings me back to needing that big defensive midfielder I think this team really needs
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 14 December 2011 Posted 14 December 2011 This is by no means a racist comment but if Yuki was English people would of wanted him gone a while ago and would be slating him a lot more. It's only the fact he is Japanesse and for that reason he is a bit of a novelty, people want him to succeed here more than most players. A bit like how Kaebi was talked up so much before anyone had seen him play.
