Snodgrass, meanwhile, was overlooked for the captaincy in favour of goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, a summer signing. While Everton have cooled their interest after signing Darron Gibson, Wolverhampton and West Bromwich have asked to be kept informed about the playmaker's availability. Snodgrass had scored eight times in 21 Championship appearances ahead of yesterday's match with Ipswich, having accelerated his return from emergency appendix surgery.
