I'm not saying it's the wrong move, but I can't help but feel this is another move in the direction of when Pearson was here before. If waghorn comes into the team that's going to force Schlupp basically out of the choice. Would be a real shame because there's no doubt he has potential and has ability now, but Waghorn forcing him out leaves it open for another team to pinch him from under our noses. If you ask me Schlupp has more potential than Waggy and it could be a real shame if he was forced out again after he's spent so long working up to being in the selection.

I think Schlupp has more potential, in my opinion. Sunderland didn't see any in Waghorn... But I think they could both be decent squad players, who we could use.

So waggy scores 1 in 5 and he's in NP's plans.

Oh well Top looks like we fvcked up again.

Wellens gets day's of cos he's tired att 31.

And waggy is the man to take us up.

Schlupp has more potential but we can use both of them.

We could but at the minute, they can't both stay unless we get rid of a more experienced striker otherwise one they will spend their season on the reserves and so not get the first team action that they need at their age for the experience

Yes Schulpp has more potential but at this stage Waghorn is a more preferred option. He can hold the ball up for Beckford or Nugent and is something different as Schlupp is similar to Beckford or Nugent. Send him out on loan for experience.

Well that's definitely not true.

They had no intention of selling over summer, and only did when they realised it would be the difference between getting Gyan or not.

Bruce said on numerous occasions he wanted to keep Waggy for the long term and that they were reluctant to sell on when they did.

Not to mention that when they did sell it was for a significantly over-inflated price.

Is that why Bruce was putting him on the bench, playing him preseason and saying he didn't want to sell? It was only a stupid offer that made them change their mind.

I don't know where this "Schlupp has more potential" comes from. What's this based on? He's not really done a great deal to warrant any comments like that, other than in a couple of games against lower league opposition . It's the usual flavour of the month story I suppose, I would wager it's the same people who were saying "waggy" was amazing a year back.

They both have potential, the Waghorn of a couple of years ago looked a very decent prospect. Probably more so than Schlupp has looked so far. If Pearson can get him playing how he was, then he is a more than good enough player for our squad. If he's the Waghorn who played under Sven, then he'll end up moving on at some point.

Sorry but not seen anything to note from schlupp besides pace. We know waghorn can score at this level.

I get the same impression with schlupp from here with what i did with Abe. People liked him because he was a novelty, now some recognise he's actually not that good!

If waghorns as crap as a lot of you make out, you clearly don't remember last time he was here with Pearson, and you must also think Stuart Pearce knows nothing about football?

Waghorn anyday of the week.

I'd be willing to give him a chance. But there's one factor. He's not allowed within 20 yards of any set piece, ever, ever again. Corners, direct free kicks, free kicks from out wide you name it, he's not fcuking touching it. Wouldn't even trust him with kick off, that might end up in the stand as well.

I've always liked Waghorn. I'd bring him back in and send Schlupp out on loan.

Waghorn was a horror show last season, but he showed he had ability the season before. However, I also believe he has many, many aspects of his game to work on and the ugly side was there to see last season with his erratic shooting and even worse set pieces. If he's made to feel wanted and get's some confidence then he offers us something we are missing but i'd lose no sleep if he was sold. I prefer the look of Schlupp myself, whose more powerful but he's got to pull something off quickly to get Pearson to give him a decent run.

Where does this Schlupp and "pace" thing come from. I honestly don't think I've ever seen him get by someone, or do anything that involved any great pace. He's always looked fairly average to me speed wise.

I liked the look of him against Saints up front as he was awkward, one of those players you never quite knew what they were going to do. And the ball seemed to stick to him quite well... but I saw no great pace??!

Waghorn isn't going to make the first 11 for some time we are going to get at least one striker this January probably two as Beckford may be off, so that leaves Waghorn potentially 4th choice in the pecking order.

easy question, schlupp is younger and has already scored 5 goals for us this season, starting just one, waggy has gone out on loan, played 5 matches and scored 1 tap in.

Quite right, his set pieces are ****ing atrocious.
