Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 SSL has hardly been our best CB. I'd actually put him 4th choice behind Tunch .
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Forgot I'm not allowed an opinion. You should read the dross you come out with before you bash others. Now now Bert no need to get all arsy... I've never said anything to you I don't think? If you like SSL that much then fair enough.. I don't agree he's better than the other three options actually.. And that's my opinion..
Salieri Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 so your saying leicester is some kind of ability "black hole" ? total bollocks.. No, i'm making a point that players come here and seem to under perform. Or am I wrong? Have the players i've mentioned done well since they've been here? At least try to come up with a counter argument. :xmaswink:
Salieri Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 SSL has hardly been our best CB. I'd actually put him 4th choice behind Tunch . You can't really compare Tunchev with anyone until he actually comes back and plays a few games in the Championship.
Bert Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 If you had to pick 2 of the 3, I'd go Mills and Bamba too. BUT my point was that (for me) SSL has had the better performances out of the three this season. Understanding?

I've wondered too why these players who have been so good elsewhere join Leicester and seem shite.. It's cos we are a group of expensively assembled individuals and not A TEAM... Good players don't become bad overnight do they... But when they don't play well together, there's the problem according to Stocky.. I agree with him... IMO Pearson will rise or fall by his ability to make this lot, and some others into something resembling a good team... This may necessitate getting rid of some of the 'big guns' and actually starting over

The Doctor Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Mills - Reading didn't rate him. Woah, Woah Woah - what the **** are you talking about? Reading didn't rate Mills, that's why he was their captain, a first team regular and they only let him go once we bid ridiculous amounts?
Dan Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 In the games he's played, he's looked better than Mills or Bamba, for me anyway. Your opinion. I don't think we've got bad options at all at centre half personally, if he was English he'd be far less demanding of first team football, shame he isn't. He's a good one to fill-in but Mills/Bamba/Tunchev are far better for me.
Thracian Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 What worries me from Bert's information is the Mills part that because he is captain he has to play seems to suggest to me that some players are undroppable AKA Wellens!!! Maybe SSL thinks that too. I can't say I've been any more impressed with him than with Mills so far and my first choice right now would be Bamba and Tunchev. But SSL tried to media-talk his way into the team earlier in the season and if he's been grumbling at the training ground I can't imagine it would go down well with Pearson. He's always talked about taking the time to sign the right type of people as well as players whatever the "right" types are for a team that shows no signs of being ruthless enough to win anything. Whatever, I really don't see St Leger as being greatly consequential to anything and don't give a toss if he stays or goes. However good or bad he is, he's never made much impression here.

You misunderstand me, i'm not absolving them from blame, i'm just saying a good manager is key in getting players performing. They all need a collective kick up the arse, i'm certainly not disputing that.

St. Ledger has been another signing who I thought was gonna be much better than he actually is... Physically he always looks too small for a start.. And he usually looks nervous.. No better than Jack Hobbs
Dan Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Woah, Woah Woah - what the **** are you talking about? Reading didn't rate Mills, that's why he was their captain, a first team regular and they only let him go once we bid ridiculous amounts? They rated him but were correct in saying we'd overpaid. He's a solid centre half but needs to sort his tendency to lash out and make stupid decisions out, and he needs to pick the right pass, because in my opinion he's actually not a bad passer of the ball, he just picks the wrong option so often. Sorts these out and he could play top flight, in my opinion.

They only 'didn't rate him' after it was clear he was on his way here.
kingfox Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Matt Mills isn't special, and if Reading fans were being truthful I can see why they didn't rate him. He is overrated, and so far a waste of 5 million. I hate players who just hoof the ball, and can't pass out of defence and Mills is one of them. Jack Hobbs was the same and he absolutely pissed me off. Mills isn't special, a hoof ball player who can't pass a ball and is rash in tackles. Little Rant Over

They all need a collective kick up the arse, i'm certainly not disputing that. so who do you class as a "good" manager? cos it ain't happening with the last few is it? im still waiting for somebody to take responsibility for something in this fooking world...I suppose its too much to ask for millionaire footballers to do it, why should they? when people make excuses for them.
hackneyfox Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 If FNP thought SSL was better then Mills, surely he'd play him and take the captains armband off Mills? The idea that Beckford hasn't done well outside division 3 is rubbish imo. Didn't he scored 8 Premier goals last season? Not a bad return, many of them came towards the end of the season as well.
seenitall Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 If Mills is kept on by Leicester he will end up a legend in the Elliot, Walsh bracket - if he is let go he will go on to be a top player for another club IMO
alanf0x Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 The guy had a really bad attitude on that tv programme with big Ron a few years back...bit of a big time charlie
Jace Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Sean St Ledger I wish you all the best in your future endeavours Next we need to piss off Wellens any chance of an international call up soon?
MrFox781 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Our club is in total shambles right now. SHAMBLES.
