Weale signs for Northampton town on loan

Why are so many talking like he has gone for good?

FFS it's a month's loan he's coming back.

Unless he takes a huge wage cut I would not think the cobblers could afford his wage.

His wage is praps half there budget.

Wasn't Weale good for you guys up until last season. It's funny he has to drop down to League Two when Paul Rachubka only has to drop down to League One.

Keep trying, one day you'll manage to wind someone up.

He was average. Ok for a free signing, but he is a lower league/back up goalkeeper at best. Never rated him myself, I got slated on here by most members for saying that, but I knew I was right...

I thank him for the season in which we made the play offs though.

Beaten from 35 yards on his debut.

lol Not surprised, he always got beaten from range....

One Northampton fan's reaction to Weale's first game with them:

Not too good, one incident in the first half where he jumped at a striker 'superman style' and was very lucky to stop the shot. Should have done better with 2nd goal, nearly got absolutely mugged off when he jumped wildly again at McLoud only for Ben Tozer to spectacularly head off the line. Pushed one shot that was a very routine save right back into the danger area but gathered well.

However kicking was good and came for a few crosses without flapping like Hall!

Other fans on their forum seemed quite positive about his performance however. Regardless I hope he does well for them and helps them stay in the football league. He deserves some happier goalkeeping times.

Here, here. Aside from all the sneering on here re Weale, I hope he helps keep the Cobblers in the football league as there's still plenty of time. People seem to forget what a good season he had for us two years ago in Pearson's first spell here when famously reaching the play offs at the first attempt. I acknowledge he had a better defence in front of him under Pearson two seasons ago before it was all disbanded by Sousa and SG Eriksson (in an attempt to form a team with more attacking prowess, therefore perhaps leaving Weale more exposed at times last season) but even so, he's not been our worst ever keeper by a long stretch as some seem to be implying on here!

Thought he's a decent enough backup for Kaspar, better than Logan.

Definetely playing well below his level.

At least the loan should give him a few games he's not getting here.

Also could learn a few things from Tim Flowers.
