I really cannot understand the criticisms being levelled at IS. OK he's a little too exuberant at times, but that's down to his youthfulness. He has a tough job and makes a good fist of it most of the time. No-one can deny his heart is the right place and he's certainly one of us.

And of course, it's a free country - those who criticise him can always put themselves forward to do his job if they really feel they could do better.

My own theory is that complaints regarding the Radio Leicester commentary team tend to be inversely proportional to the number of points Leicester have won in the last month.

Hes ok. Better then the idiots we used to have like mannish Basin.

Would be better tho I'f he didn't cream himself at every shot that is half decent.

And remember kids, as Mr Stringer keeps telling anyone that will listen... "Message boards are bad for you, dont read them!"

lol

Young has just posted on Facebook that his car won't start!

Apparently Stringer is on his way round to pick him up....

but its wrong most of the time

Unless you are at the game listening to the commentary or watching it on telly with the RL commentary - how would you know? And if it so bad why would you do either?

If you don't like it - don't listen. Jeez.

I love it because he's obviously a fan. Sure he says stupid things sometimes - don't we all - especially when it comes to football. I do. See?

better than the previous and at times an enjoyable and entertaining interviewer and space filler... BUT, needs to focus when commentating, needs to imagine his listeners are blind (cos effectively we are) and let us know whats happening..dont wander off the game and actually tell me who's on the ball, the options he has and tell me what he does.

Think hes alright to be honest, yes hes annoying every now and again, but hes a passionate city fan. Alot of people on here think they can do a better job etc, but his job isn't easy in terms of pleasing everyone.

I dont think i would change him if i could, sure from time to time he comes out with some bizzare descriptions or over exagorations but hes got so much life in him. Half time i usually switch to the oposing cometry which more than often comes across very dull compared to ours. Stringer definately gives us entertainment and clearlly cares about getting as much as possible for the fans  from looking at other peoples comments maybe hes made out of marmite

Did no-one see IS on Twitter today?

Anyone interested in @FoxesTalkQ+A Mon, 7.45pm? No abuse but criticism accepted. Soz TB+BR, just easier (register+get involved) - charity

Someone should take him up on this. It would be quite a coup for this site.

Nevile Foulger (a sky blue)

Nev is not a Coventry fan. I don't think he supports any particular team. But as he's been involved (as a journalist) with Leicester City for 25 years, I'm pretty sure that if Leicester played Cov in the play off final [please don't laugh, I'm only making a point] he would want Leicester to win.

Remember how enthusiastic and excited he was when we beat Derby in 94, Palace in 96 and so on.

I'm certain he has more of an affinity with Leicester than any other club even if he's not a "proper supporter" so to speak.

As for Ian Stringer, he's a mate of mine (I mean "pal" of mine...) and yes - in my opinion - he does have faults in his commentaries, interview technique, the way he handles himself sometimes - and he should work on those flaws - but he's an honest bloke, he cares about the club and his heart is definitely in the right place.

There are much better local radio commentators out there and there are much worse local radio commentators out there.

I think he's reasonably good.

He is well spoken and I can understand him, with some pundits/commentators I find it can be struggle.

He needs to work on his commentating a lot but I feel it gradually is getting better. Also, when you see him before the game with the fans and listen to him, he genuinely is passionate about city.

Bit of a drama queen maybe but at least he is not miserable.

I like his commentary and he always replies to tweets.

He speaks with his local dialect so I have no problem with the way he emphasises aspects of the game.

He is far better than previous tweets and lets be honest. Have you ever tried to turn the sound off and commentate on a football game for 90 odd minutes? I view it as he’s basically having a conversation with a mate at the game. I think Young is over opinionated and at times slanderous but heah! You can’t have it all!
