Nev is not a Coventry fan. I don't think he supports any particular team. But as he's been involved (as a journalist) with Leicester City for 25 years, I'm pretty sure that if Leicester played Cov in the play off final [please don't laugh, I'm only making a point] he would want Leicester to win.

Remember how enthusiastic and excited he was when we beat Derby in 94, Palace in 96 and so on.

I'm certain he has more of an affinity with Leicester than any other club even if he's not a "proper supporter" so to speak.

As for Ian Stringer, he's a mate of mine (I mean "pal" of mine...) and yes - in my opinion - he does have faults in his commentaries, interview technique, the way he handles himself sometimes - and he should work on those flaws - but he's an honest bloke, he cares about the club and his heart is definitely in the right place.

There are much better local radio commentators out there and there are much worse local radio commentators out there.

Thanks for clearing that up, not sure I could live in a world where Neville Foulger was a Coventry fan :sweating: Commentary legend as far as I'm concerned

I wonder if Stringer is underestimating how much stick and abusive comments he will get. Not saying I'm gonna abuse him cos I don't mind him, but I believe many FTers will see it as a platform to have 'banter' which is just unfunny!

Unless Mark or the mods will preview all comments or questions allowed!

All I can say is I hope Mark and a few mods keep their fingers on the delete button. If this is good it could well be the start of something!

Mods will be so busy that it'll be free for all everywhere else

I like stringer. He gets abit over excited and chats some shit sometimes but dont we all. He is passionate and he paints a great picture of the game. We are very lucky compared to some of the dross served up by other bbc radio stations. Anyone that abuses him for taking time to come on here is a mug and they deserved to be banned. We are going to see who the real morons on FT are tonight.

Think its just a way of getting some money on his justgiving site for his marathon run which is fair enough. Well worth it.
