bald reynard Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Yes, plus he's only 20. Everton must see something in them and they have a good record with spotting youngsters - Seamus Coleman a good example. Guaranteed to be better than Howard. 'Super Steve' has faced a lot of criticism this season with a large majority of fans now saying Championship is too high a level for him. Compare that with a young striker playing in the Premier League, already making a bit of an impression. I know who I'd rather have! Agree with you entirely there. Howard been a great servant, but I think he's had his day now. I think the Greek guy could be a good addition.
Bettsy82 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Remember the last foreign striker Pearson brought to city kermorgant !!!!!! Hahaha say no more !
acooling08 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Remember the last foreign striker Pearson brought to city kermorgant !!!!!! Hahaha say no more ! He was decent.
stu Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Remember the last foreign striker Pearson brought to city kermorgant !!!!!! Hahaha say no more ! What about the last player we had on loan from Everton? That turned out alright, for the majority anyway!
skinnydipper Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Would quite like to see Hopper given a chance. Was impressed by what I saw of his brief subs appearance recently and thought he showed enough to get some further game time.
Kitchandro Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Looks a decent prospect, scored in the Premier League a couple of times. If we're dipping into the loan market we still havent got enough wingers. Maybe the play-offs is out of our reach but we can still finish the season with a flourish and give it a go.
Bettsy82 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 He was decent. Say whaaaaaaat !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bettsy82 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 What about the last player we had on loan from Everton? That turned out alright, for the majority anyway! Not sure this guys gonna be as good as the yak !
stu Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Not sure this guys gonna be as good as the yak ! I didn't say he would be just mean that the Yak would be classed as foreign, hence would be the last foreign striker we signed who turned out to be more than decent.
Bettsy82 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I didn't say he would be just mean that the Yak would be classed as foreign, hence would be the last foreign striker we signed who turned out to be more than decent. Ok mate it's a bit different tho the yak was an established striker when we got him and Sven signed him not Pearson. Completely different to be honest with you kermorgant is a far better example IMO.
Number 6 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Think he could be a good player but are Everton really that flush with striking options?
ScouseFox Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Think he could be a good player but are Everton really that flush with striking options? Jelavic, Stracqualursqi and Anichebe all ahead of him, and they only ever play one striker, sometimes even no strikers with Cahill/Fellaini up top. Still can't see it happening though.
Teapot. Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Can't really believe this. is he really any better than Howard?? Well if he isn't then why is he playing as a professional footballer? I think Stephen Hawking is probably a better footballer than Steve Howard.
Bert Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Can't really believe this. 22 appearances in 3 years for a middle of the road Greek team and a few appearances for Everton. I suppose they might want him to get game time but is he really any better than Howard?? Anyone is better than that old tank.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 Anyone is better than that old tank. Funnily enough thats what i said about the ex-wife
Jackirius Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I thought we had him on trial before the season started.
Libertine Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I thought we had him on trial before the season started. That was Straqularsiwarsijurkyburken.
Simmo86 Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 I thought we had him on trial before the season started. Denis Stracqualursi
Corky Posted 7 February 2012 Posted 7 February 2012 That was Straqularsiwarsijurkyburken. Haha qlapssnwpewndnadkn.
AKCJ Posted 8 February 2012 Posted 8 February 2012 Don't let the 13 appearance thing fool you. He's plays just shy of 3 games worth in total and has got 3 goals. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/apostolos-vellios/profil/spieler_124495.html
Leicfox Posted 9 February 2012 Posted 9 February 2012 Not coming. Apostolos Vellios will not be joining Leicester City on loan. As we said yesterday a temporary loan switch for the the 20-year-old Greece Under-21 forward could be ideal as he has had limited chances at Goodison Park since joining from Greek club Iraklis for around £250,000 a year ago. 14 of his 17 appearances for Everton have come since September and he has scored 3 goals to-date against Wigan, Chelsea and Bolton. But with only 2 starts to his name and with the signing of Nikica Jelavic, the return to goalscoring form of Victor Anichebe and Denis Stracqualursi impressing, he has slipped down the pecking order at Everton. It had looked like a loan move to Championship side Leicester could be on the cards, but former Evertonian Jermaine Beckford won his appeal against his sending-off at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, which has meant that Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has cooled his interest in Vellios. It wasn't clear if Moyes did actually want to send Villios out on loan, as any injuries or suspensions would leave us a little short following the departure of Louis Saha to Spurs, but on Vital Everton we certainly thought it could prove to be a good move. Happy Fox Posted 11 February 2012 Posted 11 February 2012 Fourth_Official Fourth Official But another Everton striker is on his way out, this time Vellios on loan #EFC its us.
StanSP Posted 12 February 2012 Posted 12 February 2012 Anichebe out again, Jelavic injured in training yesterday - doubt Vellios will be out on loan any time soon.
Toffee_Fox Posted 14 February 2012 Posted 14 February 2012 Cardiff bound so I believe. You boys letting Denis Stracqualursi go was a bad mistake, huge cult hero at Goodison, puts 110% effort into every minute of every game.
