Kitchandro Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Sam Matterface commentating Wow I must say Ben Marshall's delivery were fantastic from the corners such a joy to behold some quality finally, Gally aint got a chance with getting into the side now. He might get in instead of Dyer Too high risk to be shown without a health warning. haha
Ozwin Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Apparently Marshall's an assist machine (according to some Wednesday fans I know) so it's nice to see he's on the board with one already.
SeCrEt FoX Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Oh yeah WTF is there Mascot??? Surely it would make sense to have a canary? Weird.
Libertine Dream Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 I don't really care if it was a penalty as WE WON. However in my opinion it is never a penalty. As Kasper goes into jump there player backs into which prevents him from jumping properly so instead it looks like he pushes him. Now I always thought GK'svwere taught to barge everything out the way as the penalty area is theirs so therefore its a foul neither way and play on should be called. But WE'RE IN THE QUARTER FINALS.
Guy Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Wes Morgan's shot was definitely over the line.....
Babylon Posted 18 February 2012 Posted 18 February 2012 Sven's men are doing the biz! Shame he couldn't get them to do anything.
Corky Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Debatable penalties and shots over the line not being given as goals? It's like being at Old Trafford.
Kitchandro Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 It has always annoyed me when people say 'it's only the cup'. Days like today should show people why this competition is so great and why it shouldn't be belittled. I'm not envious of Norwich one iota tonight. They can have the Premier League, if we manage to get to Wembley I wager they will be jealous of us.
acooling08 Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Nobody cares about the cup until you start to get to the stage we are now, then all of a sudden everyone is singing about Wembley (including myself )
onewindowdef Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Got to say guys...what a game...for all the leicester fans in the away end there was one holding the flag in the oppositions standsonly because i couldn't get a ticket for the away end...really had to restrain myself all game but it was bloody worth it...give me Bolton or Everton next round at City!!
Kitchandro Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Nobody cares about the cup until you start to get to the stage we are now, then all of a sudden everyone is singing about Wembley (including myself ) Yes but had Norwich cared a bit more they might have been be at the stage we are now, singing about Wembley. And actually, quite a few of their fans realise that and are pretty pissed off. But it's the Norwich fans that aren't bothered which I don't get. I really can't understand why finishing in the top half of the Premier League is better than going to Wembley, which we are now one game away from instead of them. I don't know how you can say 'Oh well, we can concentrate on the league'. What's the league got to do with it? And from Lambert's point of view, I don't understand why it has to be one or the other. I'm not sure professional footballers really do need a rest, their bodies should be able to cope.
Jon the Hat Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Awesome result!!! Was on a plane to the states this afternoon, was well chuffed to see this result on the BBC sport homepage when I got the Wifi working on my phone. Quarter finals!
Claridges'Shin Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 HAPPY DAYS PROUD TO BE A CITY FAN..... BLUE ARMY!!!
marbelladave Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Terrific performance from the team and the fans...... I'm in my mardy mode at the moment so I am not going to games, so I have little I can say about the game itself. One thing though, yesterday does show that we have it in us to win tough games, I accept that Norwich were not as 'up for it' as we were but no Premier league team or players like getting turned over by a lower division side. To my mind this is just another example of how our lack of consistency is primarily down to attitude and not ability, good attitude = good result. Also DJW comments about Mills (another thread) suggest that all is not well in the dressing room, something I have been convinced about for some time......
MC Prussian Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Obviously one heck of a result away from home in the cup against Premier League opposition. We did dominate the game slightly, but boy did Norwich push at times... A tenacious and skilled Hoolahan-type of player would do our midfield some good. Morison threatened with a couple of good headers, too. I thought Wes Morgan had an outstanding game, our defense looked really settled. As for Wellens and Danns in midfield, well... I appreciate their level of effort and commitment, but the game that I watched had them giving away cheap passes again a bit too often. Well done to the 2'500 Foxes followers making the way to Norfolk - you made a lot of noise (as heard on the telly). All in all, I think everyone stepped up a bit and put in a lot of heart yesterday, fans included. What we saw was a unit and even the strikers played with and for each other. I'd love to see more of that in the remaining games in the league. But first, let's see how far this cup run is getting us.
seenitall Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Thought we played well - luckily Norwich were completely useless up front but lets be graceful and say that was down to our defending shall we? We genuinely do have the makings of a good team here (despite what the Svenists say) and with a bit of TIME it will hopefully come together on a consistent basis Great to see the mood shift (as it always does after a win) to ridiculously over optimistic as opposed to Weds evening hopelessly pessimistic - its funnier to read when we lose though chaps

I reckon it's more of an attitude thing, when we play well we can do it, we just need to do it consistently.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Wellens and Morgan were brilliant. Special mention to Dyer too. At the time I didn't think it was a penalty. The more I look at it though the more I think the ref was spot on. Kasper knocks into his head as much as anything else. I'd also say that the ball being 'a foot over line' is bollocks. I'd say the whole ball didn't even go over the line, though if it did it was bloody tight and the lino would never have been able to give it with any conviction
Bert Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Had a fantastic day from start to finish. Was so proud of the effort from players and fans. I especially enjoyed none of the away support leaving for a good 5 minutes whilst just singing their hearts out. Top day.

Now I always thought GK'svwere taught to barge everything out the way as the penalty area is theirs so therefore its a foul neither way and play on should be called. But WE'RE IN THE QUARTER FINALS. I think Kapser was getting ready to do that, but suddenly their player was in the way, and in a position Kasper wasn't expecting because he wasn't looking to win the ball. The canary runs in looks at Kasper and stands between him and where the ball is going to drop, Kasper is watching the ball and preparing to jump over him and win the ball, but he is in the wrong place, that is why it looked like a foul. There was an incident later on when Morgan I think it was was running into the box and the ball was coming through to the keeper and he could have just run between keeper and ball and got clattered, but he didn't, probably because he is an honest player. If they start giving them as pens you will see more and players just getting between keeper and a high ball making no effort to win the ball and blocking off the keeper.
Mission Unlikely Promotion Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Fantastic result, can we carry the performance to league results - hopefully
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 What a weekend! Easy game now and we are going to Wemberrrllyyyyyyyy.
whitlock Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 Wes Morgan's shot was definitely over the line..... What an effort that was by the way! Back heel volley?? WES MORGAN IS A BLUE
Nickfosse Posted 19 February 2012 Posted 19 February 2012 With regards to the Pen. It was a shocker. The first foul was committed by the Norwich player who played the man not the ball. Replays show he never once looked at the ball but played the keeper. On refereeing matters, watching ESPN. How on earth does Carroll avoid bookings for foul and abusive language?
