Never understand why people fight over a game of football anyway. I understand it is territory and whatever but at the end of the day it is a game and people shouldn't go home hurt.

It's not just football - this whole country is full of shit right now. I've never known so much crime - and much of it so blatant it's as if those responsible are as happy to be caught and put away as to queue at the post office and find that the computers are down so they can't collect their benefits - yet again.

Football fanism these days is TAME compared to how it was in the 80's.

None of it should be condoned of course. But to say that stuff is much worse these days compared to bygone years I would suspect is not backed up by the stats.

Christ, I remember days when cars got smashed in down Hazel st, lads got their faces kicked in at football matches and more than a few stabbings.

I wouldn't have fancied a trip to the Old Den much back in the day either, and not just because Millwall stuck you behind a floodlight.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've felt genuinely unsafe away from home following City, which is how it should be really.

Well it depends how far back you go, when I started watching and I'm sure it was the same for Thracian there was no trouble and no segregation so on that basis we don't need tinted specs and the vicar could well have had a tea party down there if he could find the space.

Why does it matter how far back you want to go. Did you watch LCFC in the 80s? And go to away games?

Specially with that narrow alleyway at the back of the away stand - play off semis in the 90s, after the game city fans were trapped by home fans at either end - then when we finally made a run for the car, got a proper kicking - not a copper in sight that night

To a point i think i undestand why they do it. It's your cities reputation youre fighting for, however chilish thay seems. It is not about local pride or rivalries, it is not about fighting for your city's reputation, these are the same cvnts that will start on you in a bar whether you are from the same city, country post code or whatever.
