Bert Posted 3 March 2012 Author Posted 3 March 2012 He needed smashing with an old fashioned tackle today, pranced around, fell over a bit but offered little as a Striker Did you not see St Ledger wipe him out? Won the ball and totally smashed him. Morgan loved it.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 What did he do to get a red? Looked innocuous to me

AKCJ Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Did you not see St Ledger wipe him out? Won the ball and totally smashed him. Morgan loved it. That was right infront of me, I celebrated it like a goal! The twat needed a good kicking.
Ian W LCFC Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Schmeichel - 9 - was solid and didn't make a mistake, great penalty save! Peltier - 7 - Played quite well today St. Ledger - 7 - Wasn't too good in the air but kept clean sheet Morgan - 7 - A tank in the air and a good performance but was lucky not to get sent off Konchesky - 7 - Played well, and didn't see the red card incident Marshall - 6 - His corners and crosses were great, but just needs to be more confident and needs abit longer to settle in Danns - 7 - Was energetic and put in a good shift, but a few misplaced passes and missed the penalty Wellens - 9 - Back to his best, controled the midfield and is loving wearing the armband Dyer - 8 - Played well and used his pace to his advantage, but in the last 20 mins kept drifting inside and didnt do much Beckford - 8 - Got stuck in and pressed well, got a well deserved goal Nugent - Decent performance, has a great partnership with becks and took his goal well Fans - 8 - Got behind the team well, but went quite near the end of the 1st half, and i shouted 'just like a library'. And i was waving my scarf like a mad thing! But good performance and finally back to back league wins!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Karate kick to the chest usually results in a red. not seen it again yet. Didn't see that though in real time
Simmo86 Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Karate kick to the chest usually results in a red. TBF when the person he kicks in the chest is 4 foot nothing its kind of harsh. Anybody else on the pitch he would of caught the top of their ankle!
Wymsey Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Midfield still looks weak; need strong physical ones that have good aerial presence, as well as good ball technique/movement imo.
Simmo86 Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Midfield still looks weak; need strong physical ones that have good aerial presence, as well as good ball technique/movement imo. Need Patrick Vieira circa 2002 then!
El_Sieffsi Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Kasper 8 - great penalty save, had total control of everything and his kicking was good. Pelts 6 - A bit shaky but played his part in the clean sheet. Konchesky 6 - definately a red otherwise did ok. Morgan 7 - defended well and was unlucky for the penalty. SSL 7 - another solid performance Marshall 6 - should've scored but made up with an assist. (I think) Dyer 7 - his cross lead to our first. Teams just can't deal with his pace. Danns 6 - a missed penalty but a very energetic performance. Wellens 8 - ran the show. Thriving under the arm-band. Nugent 7 - in the right place at the right time, but the knock he took affected the rest of the game. Beckford 7 - great touch and turn before Nugents goal and got himself a goal. Agreed..but would give Nugent possibly 8,it was his pressure on their defence and keeper..keeper panicked and sliced out for a throw, from which we scored,he does this a lot..got to be worth maybe 3-4 goals a season. Beckford 7.5 Gets the extra for swinging his arms up at the crowd..and getting the rest of The Kop up off their arses and sing..yes,I do sit in The Kop,and there ARE fans in there who DO chant..so please back off the fans in The Kop people(not directed at you Bert),we can't all fit into L1..how we would all love to hear the stadium roaring every game, but it will never happen..simply because there ARE fans there who don't want to sing, whether they're shy..don't know the words..who knows?..yes,the noise has got better, can even hear family stand. (Tangent over). Kasper 8.5 Gets the extra for his continuous passion he shows to winning and to fans in EVERY match. "Leeds don't like him".. "Rock the Kasper..Rock the Kasper".. "But we all like him".. "Rock the Kasper..Rock the Kasper". To the Clash track "Rock the kasbah"..Wish we could get this chanting! Cov..err.."fans".. -a LOT. Really hope that's the last time I see and rarely hear them!!!
Fox92 Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Kasper 8 - Good when called upon, especially the penalty. Peltier 7 Morgan 7 - Solid again St Ledger 7 - Solid again Konchesky 7 Marshall 6 - Decent. Should have scored but needs time. Danns 7 - Pretty poor penalty but throughout the game he assisted between defence and attack Wellens 8 - Controlled the game, yet again. Looking much better without King! Dyer 6 - Yet again, started well but faded. Nugent 7 Beckford 7

Marshall put in a pretty average performance, whereas Dyer again was carving them up most times he had the ball. Lloyd's currently enjoying some of his best form in a City shirt IMO and I hope he can continue it. 8's for both Richie and Lloyd today for me.

I know Dyer looked lively again to start with, but he didn't do it all game. I agree he looks dangerous when he runs at people but he faded away yet again. And this is one of the problem's with Dyer for me, and probably another example of why he didn't cut it at a higher level. His confidence looks to have come back but I'd like to see him be good for 90 minutes. Come inside a lot as well again I thought.

I don't really get why people think Dyer can put in the effort he does all game? His game is built on bursts of speed.. It's hardly surprising he's gonna run out of puff around 75 mins or so in. From what I've seen of Lloyd over the past few years, anyone that manages him needs to factor this in when making team selections. MON used to do this frequently with Muzzy Izzett... Typically Muzzy was subbed off after 70/80 minutes because hed run his legs off since the kick off. I'm not surprised that Lloyd gets knackered late on, but I am surprised that people don't expect that this will usually happen.

It just highlights to me that we need to get another LW for competition, maybe a better player.
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 It just highlights to me that we need to get another LW for competition, maybe a better player. Without a doubt we do need another good left winger, like we need another quality striker. Stevie Howard, im afraid, has had his day. The competition for places is never a bad thing.

dannythefox Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Kasper 8.5 (a couple of good saves and the penalty) Pelts 7 (needs to learn to get back after getting forward) Morgan 8 (a rock not much gets passed him) Ledger 8 (every game showing his class now) Konch 7.5 (another good shift in) Marshall 7 (big change needs to settle) Wellens 8.5 (bossed it, motm) Danns 7 (not his self) Dyer 7.3 (always a threat) Nugent 7.5 (another good shift plus the goal and assist) Beckford 7.2 (goal and assist)
bmt Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Kasper 9 - Not much too do but can't mark him down because of it, excellent penalty save. Peltier 6 - Not one of his better days, but okay in the whole. Steady at the back but not particularly good going forward. SSL 8 - Very solid, should have scored although that isn't really his job. Always very composed at the back. Morgan 8 - Great partnership forming with SSL. Never a penalty in my opinion and the yellow was more 'taking one for the team'. Never beaten and strong at the back. Konchesky 8 - Didn't see the sending off but was excellent for the rest of the game. Very solid at the back, decent in the air considering that he's frequently targeted. Good on overlap. Marshall 6 - Feel everyone's being a bit harsh. Inexperience shows, should have scored but crossing was excellent throughout, best corner taker we've had in years. Danns 6 - Passing frequently poor. Not up to his recent standards but put in a hard shift. Wellens 7 - Excellent passing throughout. Dyer 6 - Excellent pace once more but final ball is mostly terrible, still feel he does a good job against some right backs. Nugent 8 - Well taken goal and good assist for Beckford, bit sheepish after the knock he took. Beckford 9 - Excellent game, tracked about well and got a goal and assist. Looked to be having fun. DD 7 - Did well to not let them into the game. Schlupp 6 - No time to influence game. Howard 4 - Shit. Brings nothing to the table. Futacs from Pompey Stewart from Hull This, looked a real handful against us.

Though Howard is meant to be a player who wind headers and keeps possession when we want to retain our lead, whether he does that is another matter...
ScouseFox Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Quick one on Dyer. When he does what he does best, runs at people he's unstoppable. Delivery isn't usually all that, mind. And if I catch him one more time stood in the centre circle when Konchesky's looking down the line, I'm gonna run onto the pitch and drag him to the left fvcking wing. It's not hard man, just stay there! I like him though.
Corky Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Schmeichel- 8 (Not a lot to do, but made some crucial saves) Peltier- 7 (Solid) Morgan- 6 (Tough game for him, harshly done by with the penalty) St Ledger- 7 (Typical of him lately) Konchesky- 6 (Made surging runs again, loses a point for the red) Marshall- 6 (Missed a great chance) Wellens- 8 (Continues his improvement) Danns- 6 (Missed a penalty, did okay elsewhere) Dyer- 7 (When he runs he's a threat, doesn't do it enough, but okay) Nugent- 7 (Another goal, busy) Beckford- 8 (Re-born, seems to be confident)
okie fox Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Schmeichel -8- Fantastic penalty save Peltier -6- Mediocre Morgan -7- Thought he did well except for soft penalty - hoof the hospital ball out of play St Ledger -7- Did well against mountain of a player (Platt) Koncheskey -7- Occasional lapses in judgement (e.g., red card) Marshall -5- Not adjusted yet to championship Danns -6- An off day Wellens -9- MOM,distributed the ball very well Dyer -7- Decent contribution Beckford -7- Quiet most of time, but got goal and assist Nugent -7- Battled on after early injury suffered while scoring, assisted on second (along with Wellens) SUBS: Drinkwater -7- Neat and tidy with ball Schlupp -7- Did his part seeing out the game Howard -6- Not on for long
Corky Posted 4 March 2012 Posted 4 March 2012 Bell- 10 (For being the worst winger I've seen from a side at the ground in a long time)
