Bugg Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 You haven't heard on the books expression before? it means the players in question shouldn't be in the starting line up imo. As for being on the bench am not too fussed but as long as they aren't starting matches next season then all the better as far as I am concerned. I'm pretty sure "on the books" means that they are employed at the club, nothing to do with the starting line up.
Happy Fox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 No it doesn't. It means 'on the books' as in....employed by the club. Literally. well I still stand by what I say I don't want them at our club next season.

Edit: Equally awkward is posting a redundant post after the issue's been resolved. Please disregard.

Out Foxed Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 wellens, dyer and gallagher aren't good enough, bottom line. remove dyer and i agree. dyer has been one of the few positives this season as he's improved immensely going forward.
iamafox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 remove dyer and i agree. dyer has been one of the few positives this season as he's improved immensely going forward. But his final ball has always been poor.
strattylcfc Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Ffs this is boring now so basically what your saying is if he has 1 bad game he should be out the team if you look at it that way most weeks we wouldn't have a team every player has a bad game here and there that includes top prem teams blah blah blah YOUR BORING ME NOW IF YOU DONT LIKE IT MOAN SOME WHERE ELSE AND STOP FILLING UP THE FORUM WITH YOUR STUPID THREAD GET A GRIP
AyewJoking Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Its simple, give Wellens a free role in a midfield 4 and he will create unlimited chances for Beckford. Cant believe Pearson hasnt done this.
The Doctor Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Its simple, give Wellens a free role in a midfield 4 and he will create unlimited chances for Beckford. Cant believe Pearson hasnt done this. Perhaps because it's a crap idea. The problem is not with the role he's being played in, more that he can't actually play.
AyewJoking Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Its a good thing I was being sarcastic else I'd give you a good old fashioned thrashing.

Yojoe36 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Well. This thread is full of nice and loving comments
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 A shadow of his former self was the description given by a Donny fan when we played them at their place. Pity some of our fans are too blinkered to see it. Injury or not, the fact that he was subsitituted last night was at least a step in the right direction. As others have said, if he's in the first team next season we won't be going anywhere.
dannythefox Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Wellens need replacing with someone like Barton, Nolan, Bowyer the sort of player that doesn't take any shit that's what were missing in the midfield.
Fox92 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 remove dyer and i agree. dyer has been one of the few positives this season as he's improved immensely going forward. He isn't good enough though. He is good for about 20 minutes, or 45 minutes at best, and although he sometimes runs at defenders, his final ball is not good enough. We need more quality out wide, and this is why I was so shocked when Sven spent all that summer money without getting a quality winger in. Regarding Wellens, he isn't a holding midfielder, never has been and never will be.

Problem with Dyer is that he is so unintelligent, plays the wrong ball, hits it too hard/soft and his general thinking with the ball is slow.
FoxyPalace.com Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Agree Wellens, Gallagher, Dyer are not good enough to get us out of this league, Hope Pearson realises this, Get rid and get sum young talent in
Fox92 Posted 22 March 2012 Posted 22 March 2012 Problem with Dyer is that he is so unintelligent, plays the wrong ball, hits it too hard/soft and his general thinking with the ball is slow. I agree, and he seems switched off at times as well.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Wellens problem is that he is totally unable to be consistent. One fine game, and then he seems to switch off for the next few.
