StanSP Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Surprised there's not a thread about this already! Your picks for formations and squads. Any changes? What's this I hear about a midfield crisis? I know Danns is struggling, but haven't we had a midfield crisis all season . I reckon 2-0 to us. We HAVE to keep Robert Koren quiet. Just like Kevin Phillips, he seems to have a knack for scoring against us.
steveherbe Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Didnt i read somewhere (mockery??) that Koren is definitely out (or as some would say, defiantly out!!) Yep, there we are, from the Mockery. Hull have suffered their own injury blow as influential midfielder Robert Koren has been ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Koren is injured, Danns, Wellens and Drinkwater are all doubts for us, we tried to bring in two midfielders on loan yesterday but we failed.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Thank God Koren is injured. That is already one less goal they should score! Kasper SSL Bamba Morgan Konchesky Marshall DD Danns Dyer Nugent Beckford
StanSP Posted 23 March 2012 Author Posted 23 March 2012 Koren is injured, Danns, Wellens and Drinkwater are all doubts for us, we tried to bring in two midfielders on loan yesterday but we failed. Ah fair enough. Koren will be quiet then! Any idea who those 2 midfielders were?
Happy Fox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Ah fair enough. Koren will be quiet then! Any idea who those 2 midfielders were? Nope it was just in the merc article NP said he tried to get in 2 midfielders http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story-15599600-detail/story.html? City boss Nigel Pearson was unsuccessful in bids to bring in two midfielders before the loan window closed yesterday, and he admits he may have to be "creative" with his selection. "We have been working hard on possible loans but we have not been successful. We have pursued a few lines of enquiry but they have not borne fruit.
Raw Dykes Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 I won't be surprised to see Peltier or Bamba play in midfield. I just hope we don't get trounced before we have some midfielders available again.
Guy Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Obviously a must win game from my simplistic but realistic viewpoint. I think we'll edge it 1-0. It's been a while now since we were involved in such a low scoring game! I think our last involvement in a 1-0 was at Brighton a few games ago by now, where we lost.....right at the death of course - when else??!!

StanSP Posted 23 March 2012 Author Posted 23 March 2012 Is Gallagher still injured? If Danns, Wellens and DD are all definitely out, anyone reckon we could go diamond in the middle for one game - Bamba as DM, Dyer and Marshall on the wings and Gally (if available) in the middle? I know Gallagher isn't to everyone's taste right now, but we don't have many options. Unless Schlupp slots in there? Probably will never happen but just a suggestion .
sphericalfox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Sounds like we might have a couple of call ups from the yoof team. Who's ready for the step up in the midfield?
Saxondale Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 I think it's more likely Pearson will play players out of position than bring in some yoof tomorrow. Possibly Bamba? One or all of the doubts may be judged fit anyway. Even King's not far off is he? You never know.

If he plays people out of position then they won't be on the bench, therefore someone will get a call up.
Dan Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Hang on hang on, Danns, Wellens AND Drinkwater are doubts?! We're absolutely fvcked. We've got literally no one.
Saxondale Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 If he plays people out of position then they won't be on the bench, therefore someone will get a call up. Would Liam Moore play as a right winger with Marshall as an attacking centre mid maybe? EDIT: Actually, he's more likely to play Peltier as a winger, I suppose.
Guest Col city fan Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Hang on hang on, Danns, Wellens AND Drinkwater are doubts?! We're absolutely fvcked. We've got literally no one. Some peeps could get their wish granted in terms of seeing how Sol Bamba gets on as a CM?
Raw Dykes Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 If all the doubts (Wellens, Danns, Drinkwater, Gallagher) don't play, it could be something like: Schmeichel Peltier, St. Ledger, Morgan, Konchesky Dyer, Bamba, Marshall, Schlupp Beckford, Nugent Bench: Weale/Logan/Smith, Mills/Pantsil/Tunchev, Kennedy, Hopper, Howard Have I forgotten anyone? Peltier could be an option for CM. Anyone know anything about youth midfielder Shane Byrne? Remember in the summer when we had 7 or 8 central midfielders? Who'd have thought this could happen now?
Dan Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 I wouldn't rule out; Schmeichel SSL - Morgan - Mills (yes I know) - Konchesky Marshall - Peltier - Bamba - Dyer Nugent - Beckford
Petchy Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Wouldn't be surprised to see us line up something like this, depending on whether Danns pulls through. If he doesn't, then Kennedy may go left wing whilst Dyer goes right and then Marshall can slot just behind the front two or go up top making it a 4-3-3. My heart wants Pantsil to get a game, but I know it'll never happen. I knew we should have got this man in the summer though....
RowlattsFox Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Should have kept Oakley Is Johnson still here, I know he is unfit but may get a game. Did Moussa go out on loan? I can't remember. If any youngster will be involved then it will be Norburn probably? Doubt he will play though. I'd expect Peltier or Bamba, or both, in midfield. Maybe Pantsil will get a game at right back.

Johnson's gone back to Man City and Moussa's on loan at Chesterfield. Norburn or Byrne might get a spot on the bench, but I strongly doubt they'd start. I agree - it could well be Bamba or Peltier in central midfield, or maybe Marshall, with Kennedy or Schlupp filling in out wide.
Simmo86 Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 I wouldn't rule out; Schmeichel SSL - Morgan - Mills (yes I know) - Konchesky Marshall - Peltier - Bamba - Dyer Nugent - Beckford Will be this if DD, RW & ND are out
MONreborn Posted 23 March 2012 Posted 23 March 2012 Ha who would have thought when Sven left we would be struggling for cm's this season.
