eaststand68 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 When Nigel was appointed he understood that failure to gain promotion would be classed as a failure, his record is worse than Sven's. Will he be sacked????
Carl the Llama Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Fvck right off please. There's a good lad. Edit: Bit harsh, sorry, I'm just fed up with this moronic speculation which inevitably arises following a failure to win.
Vardinhio Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 In a word, no. Obviously promotion was the target but I think the Thais realise that Nigel is building a team that is capable to get them where they want to be. Also don't be fooled in to thinking Pearson is on a no promotion no job contract, he wouldn't be so stupid to sign that death wish.
StanSP Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 No. He's been here less than a full season so cannot judge him on that. Ridiculous question.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I don't he should, he deserves time to implement the changes & philosophy he wants. For me that's a full season. I believe he can do very well, that he has the ability to create a hard working, successful team that know what is expected of them. He won't fill the side with flare, but I do think he'll create a winning team. But it's only my opinion.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 I could see after 30mins it was going to be 0-0, nigel just didn't do enough to change it. its a weakness, but sacking a manager yet again takes us nowhere. As he would say, he has a lot of work to do.
inckley fox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 His record isn't worse than Sven's. He averages 1.54 pts per game to Sven's 1.46. Had we averaged that all season long we'd be in the play-off zone tonight. Why else hasn't he failed? Well he got us promoted and into the play-offs last time round. And to the quarter finals of the FA Cup this year. And he hasn't spent a quarter of the money Sven spent. And the season isn't over yet.

Tielemans63 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 What an original idea for a thread. Can't believe it hasn't been discussed a million times before.

Tielemans63 Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 i think the kop should be next to the away fans. what say you? Mmm great shout - that's something we should discuss. I was wondering if people had any opinions on whether we've definitely left it too late to make the playoffs or not?
dave the caveman Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 He'll be gone if we aren't in the top-8 at Christmas. He might even be gone if we're 6th/7th/8th depending I guess on how much money he spends. I like NP a lot, I like his persona, and I have fond memories of the spirit he built here before. But I think if it wasn't for that, if it wasn't for the fact that we have ssen first hand what he can achieve, then I would have serious doubts about whether he is the right man to take us forward. He has shown nothing so far in his 2nd stint that suggests he is a particularly good manager. His signings have been remarkably average. The defence has been woeful. Effort levels and spirit in the squad has been terrible. He has been unable to manage players with any kind of ego, the type of which almost every premiership player possesses. We are still inconsistant. We still can't beat the worst sides in the division at home. What he has done is snipped away the occasional brilliance we had under Sven, and snipped away the occasional relegation form we displayed under Sven. He has cut the top and the bottom off of our performances, and has us trudging through a muddy middle wasteland, with no sign of ever lifting ourselves out. He has not failed yet, but he is failing so far.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 Said it weeks ago and stick by it.. He will prob get a similar amount of time as Sven did I would expect. Especially if he spends big in the summer.
inckley fox Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 promoted from league 1... play offs and blew it... quarters and blew it... seasons over.. still i will back him as hes here and hope he has a decent summer and good start to next season. That's a very glass half-empty perspective you've got going there! Promotion from league 1 is an outstanding achievement! And getting to the play-offs and reaching the quarters marks success in itself. As a Leicester fan I suggest you avoid looking at everything other than winning the league or FA Cup as a failure, or blowing it, as several people on here tend to. That would, after all, make all but six years out of the last thirty an out and out disaster, which, depressing as supporting this club can be at times, isn't the case. And season over? If we win the next three games we'll be either in or at the brink of the play-offs. We'd have killed for that under Rob Kelly. Be positive.

So could I, but our opinions were very limited today with what we could do. Other than Schlupp there was nothing on the bench to change the situation. Yeah king is there but we felt light in the middle as it was and he would only have made that worse IMO. I couldn't see where the bench would improve us or change things beyond Schlupp. When you are missing Wellens, Danns, Gallagher, Vassell, Waghorn you lose a lot of options to change formation etc, whether you like or loathe them, you lose options in personell and formations. It wasn't an easy one today and we started with a striker out wide, and a winger and CB in midfield.
Jimmy Posted 27 March 2012 Posted 27 March 2012 technically yes he has, but he won't lose his job and nor should he

And trimmed away the occasional brilliance we had under Sven? For every Derby County classic under Sven, there's a Norwich City under Pearson. Don't be daft.
