StanSP Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 Film star? Rock icon? Family member? A month? Random? I was named after a bloke who was a gamekeeper on the Balmoral Estate that learnt my dad how to shoot. My Lad is named after the Mrs Grandad. My Daughters is from a nick name that my Mrs dad called the Mrs twin sister. How about you? Why did the game-keeper's parents name their son 'WTF'. Wuttuf. Anyway, not named after anyone. That's not to say my name is unique, but in Hindu culture, depending on when the child is born and other factors which I can't remember, parents get a choice of letters to choose names from. My parents had S and A I think. My mum liked the name Ajay, but in the end opted for Sunil. A shorter, fake answer would have just been to say I'm named after Sunil Gavaskar.
Jimothy Posted 28 March 2012 Posted 28 March 2012 I got James because it went well with Arthur apparently. Arthur is a middle name that runs through my Dad's side of the family. I've changed Arthur to Samuel now which was my Grandpa's middle name. So first name isn't from anywhere, it's all about the middle names in my family.
